When Ellie Forth sets out to have a great Alaskan adventure with her remaining family members, she’s got something to prove—and not to them, but to herself. Four years after the unexpected death of her mother and sister, she’s ready to re-embrace her adventurous side.

Oliver Cole’s life, on the other hand, is very simple: go to work, catch fish, come home, and stash every penny earned into his bank account so he can afford to pay for college. But his life is turned upside down when Ellie and her brother—two nearly-forgotten acquaintances from his childhood—burst back into his life.
After a horrific encounter with the supernatural deep in the Kenai Peninsula, Ellie and Oliver must team up to discover the truth about what happened in Portlock, and how to fight a rising tide of evil that has the power to envelop not just Alaska, but the entire world.

My Review: Oh my did I enjoy this book!

Catiee is talented in how she describes her characters. It's done so well it can even seem real/relatable and I really loved that. Even the world building itself was done so well that that I couldn't bother to put this book down.

Ellie is such a lovely character. She's focused in life and agreeing to this trip with her dad and brother seems to be the only break she's given herself. She is a good sport going along even though she is not found of hunting and hurting an animal herself. It's going to be a little hard to be back in Alaska, since the last time they were there, they family was whole.

Oliver is also lovely and being out is basically his life.

However, it isn't long before things take a unexpected turn. What was supposed to be a happy family trip turned into Ellie encountering a ghost, her dad trying to get her out of the way and then nothing.

Ellie wakes up in the hospital, doing insanely well after considering the condition she arrived in. Search and rescue still looking for her dad and some people wanting to put the blame on him.

In an instant it all change and now Ellie and Oliver need to figure out exactly what is going on.

From the first word to the last, this book contained everything I come to want in a supernatural fantasy. Catiee has a true talent for writing and an author you need to have on your TBR.

Weekly Spotlight - Full Moon

Once in a Full Moon

Celeste Parker is used to hearing scary stories about werewolves—Legend's Run is famous for them. She's used to everything in the small town until Brandon Maddox moves to Legend's Run and Celeste finds herself immediately drawn to the handsome new student. But when, after an unnerving visit with a psychic, she encounters a pack of wolves and gorgeous, enigmatic Brandon, she must discover whether his transformation is more than legend or just a trick of the shadows in the moonlight.

Her best friends may never forgive her if she gives up her perfect boyfriend, Nash, for Brandon, who's from the wrong side of town. But she can't deny her attraction or the strong pull he has on her. Brandon may be Celeste's hero, or he may be the most dangerous creature she could encounter in the woods of Legend's Run.

Psychic predictions, generations-old secrets, a town divided, and the possibility of falling in love with a hot and heroic werewolf are the perfect formula for what happens . . . once in a full moon.

Magic of the Moonlight
Celeste has more to worry about than a secret romance with a hot guy from the wrong side of town. That guy, Brandon, is a werewolf. With gossip and hostility swirling at school, it’s time to find a cure for his nocturnal condition, and perhaps the one person who can help is his scientist father. But what if a “cure” makes things worse and Brandon becomes a werewolf full time? And with rumors circulating that there are werewolves in Legend’s Run, is it possible that there is another among their classmates?

To keep Brandon’s secret safe, Celeste must hide her relationship with him from her best friends, but with the Moonlight Ball approaching, she must make a choice. Her dream is to go with her one true love—Brandon. But once the sun goes down, the clouds separate, and the full moon appears, could she really walk into the dance on the arm of a werewolf?

In this installment of the sumptuously romantic Full Moon series, Celeste faces her fears and her friends and finds out whether she’s strong enough to stand up for herself and her one true love.

Full Moon Kisses

Beware of the full moon.

A werewolf wants to take you into his world. Forever.

Celeste and Brandon know that Nash in werewolf form is bad news. But a new prediction from psychic Dr. Meadows has Celeste wondering: Which of them wants to turn her into a werewolf?

Still on Celeste's and Brandon's minds is the "cure" from Brandon's father. Brandon must face one dilemma he hadn't anticipated—if his dad's serum really does work, is he willing to give up being a werewolf for good? Is Celeste willing to give up her heroic werewolf boyfriend? And when Nash finds out there's a cure, will he try to take it from Brandon as they continue to deal with their rivalry, their competing affections for Celeste, and their struggles with their werewolf identities?

Then things grow still more complicated when a gang of sketchy guys from a neigh-boring town comes to Legend's Run just before the big Werewolf Festival. What, or whom, are they looking for?

The third installment in the sumptuous series about werewolves and the popular girl who loves one is full of danger, mystery, and undeniably romantic full moon kisses.

Easton doesn’t believe in love. He believes in Death. Darkness. Sin. As a reaper for Hell, it’s all he’s known for over four hundred years. When he gets slapped with the job of training the boss’s daughter, an angel who knows nothing but joy, he knows he’s in for a world of trouble.

Though he’s made it clear he wants nothing to do with her outside of work, Gwen would do anything to get closer to the dark and wounded reaper—even taint her angelic image and join the ranks of her father’s team of reapers. But in all her planning, she forgot to factor in one thing—how far the demons Easton doomed to hell would go to get revenge.

When the dangers of the Hell threaten Gwen, Easton will do whatever it takes to save her. But as the darkness closes in on them both, will he be able to save himself?

My Review: I loved the characters. Easton and Gwen are great and I loved reading about them. But the over all story didn't keep me hooked.

Twins Sera and Luke Raine’s abilities are growing. Sera is healing vampires now, making them human again. And, at times, Luke can actually change the future he Sees.

But Sera’s healing has dangerous consequences, and though Luke is altering the outcome of more visions, he can’t control them yet.

Now Sera is in danger as the dark creatures of the Realm seek to use her. As Luke struggles to master his gift in order to save his sister, he discovers even more about his powers.

And what he learns just may put him in greater danger than Sera has ever been.

My Review: So I am excited to be reviewing another book for J Meyers. I have to say that I love love love book 2! It's as perfect as book 1. The twists that happen in the book were even better than the twists in book 1. These twists made me read even faster, just to figure out the outcome.

Okay so the twins have a much better handle on their powers than they did in book 1. They still had their troubles, but hey whats a good character without out some troubles/flaws? The roles in this book is somewhat reversed. Luke at the start had problems with his visions, not only the controlling them but also seeing the good and bad of each vision. He saw Sera as the strong, powerful, and more important one. This time Sera will need Luke, when she is backed up into a corner she can't exactly get out of. Because evil just loves her so much that they have to throw her into the middle of everything. With her being thrown into all this evil, Luke has a chance to grow, and boy he grow up big time! He uses all his power and strength to keep Sera away from all the evil that want her. Though when he finally got a handle on things his confidence grew to a point it made me jump with excitement. Sad part is, with the consequences of finding himself and handling his powers, Sera is still grabbed by evil.

You see, this evil will do any greedy, nasty, dirty deed in order to get a hold of Sera's powers of healing. Which sucks, because she deals with so much torture from them, when Luke doesn't get as much crap from evil as she does. However having awesome friends with powers of their own is a bonus. With them all using their abilities, there is no way evil can win right? Well I'll keep that answer to myself.

PULSE, was the Award-Winning Finalist in two categories - "Fiction: Romance" and "Fiction: Multicultural" of the  2011 International Book Awards, where Pulse's author Kailin Gow won first place overall in Fiction Horror, joining winners from St. Martin's Press, Simon & Shuster, Zondervan, and Random House.

She joins other winners such as Bishop Desmond Tutu and Rick Warren in the 2011 International Book Awards.

17 year-old Kalina didn t know her boyfriend was a vampire until the night he died of a freak accident. She didn t know he came from a long line of vampires until the night she was visited by his half-brothers Jaegar and Stuart Greystone. There were a lot of secrets her boyfriend didn t tell her. Now she must discover them in order to keep alive. But having two half-brothers vampires around had just gotten interesting.

My Review: From start of finish I was very into this book. It's not the same as other vampire stories I've read. A lot have similar beginning and ending, but this one is completely different.   This book is totally on it's own level.

Kalina lost her boyfriend in a freak accident. Months after two guys show up who apparently are Aaron's older brothers. Right now at she has no idea that Aaron is a vampire. When the brothers show up she finds out there are tons of secrets that Aaron hasn't told her. To stay alive she has to figure out what the secrets are. But with two vampires around, things ought to be interesting. Things are interesting, Kalina faces a number of crazy situations and other vampires will become curious at what she's become. Now the two brothers are fun and opposites of each other. You have one brother who is flirty and the other is sweet and awkward. I do like how strong Kalina is when faced with situations. She reminds me of a favorite character I have.  I did like a scene in the book where other vamps tried doing something to her, and it had no effect at all. The holy water thrown on any other would hurt them badly, but on Kalina, nothing happens at all. Kinda cool scene to read.
