Despite her superhuman strength and enhanced senses, Della Tsang's life as a vampire certainly hasn't been easy. Especially since she was reborn and bound to the mysterious, infuriating, and gorgeous Chase Tallman.
But if there's one thing that's always kept Della going, it's her dream of being an elite paranormal investigator. Her newest case is the opportunity she's been waiting for, but as Della tries to solve the twenty year old murder and clear her father's name. She uncovers secrets about the vampire council. And about Chase.
Feeling betrayed by all the secrets he's kept hidden from her, Della is determined to keep him as far away from her heart as she can. But she'll need his help to solve the case that will lead them into the darkest and ugliest vampire gangs in town and into the scariest reaches of her heart.
My Review: I can't believe this series is coming to a close. I have read and loved each book that C.C. has written. She just has a gift of taking you into a world that you never want to leave.
So Della's life as a vampire has been a crazy ride. She is not a typical vampire. She's sassy, tough, young, works as an investigator, deals with all kinds of supernatural things going around her, and has the greatest people on her side.
Della's next case will hit home. The one she's been waiting for, to clear her dads name and solve a murder. She starts to dig in and a lot of questions come up, along with secrets. She thought she knew the council, then she found out their secrets. Then you know Chase, the vampire. My thoughts on him from the last book hasn't changed much. Della also found out things about Chase.....yeah you should sit down during that point. You will grip the book, yell, complain, and love every second of it. Of course Della isn't feeling too great after finding out all these secrets. She wants him to stay at bay, but he's needed to solve the case. So its a tough situation for Della.
No matter what, Della stuck to her guns. She will always be my favorite vampire. It was hard not to finish the book, but it was tough with it being the end. I loved every moment. I would love to see the series go on and focus on Miranda. But I was happy to see these characters get the ending they deserved.
