THE GIRL WHO WOULD BE QUEEN
Nerissa Marin hides among teens in her human form, waiting for the day she can claim her birthright—the undersea kingdom stolen from her the day her father was murdered. Blending in is her best weapon—until her father's betrayer confronts Nerissa and challenges her to a battle to the death on Nerissa's upcoming birthday—the day she comes of age.
Amid danger and the heartbreak of her missing mother, falling for a human boy is the last thing Nerissa should do. But Lo Seavon breaches her defenses and somehow becomes the only person she can count on to help her desperate search for her mother, a prisoner of Nerissa's mortal enemy. Is Lo the linchpin that might win Nerissa back her crown? Or will this mortal boy become the weakness that destroys her?
My Review: Love this book! Now this has to be my favorite book by Amalie Howard! New and different is what this book is about! Also there aren't mermaids in here like you think. When you star reading the book you will know that there is something out there. The only problem is that, you wont know what it is.
Rissa is royalty. Aquarathi, what that is, you will have to read it yourself. The book says is so well, I mean I could explain it, but it wouldn't be the same. The mythology that is thrown in with everything else, makes this book so addictive! I finished the book pretty quickly and was easily sucked in.
So whats going on is Rissa has been living under the sea for a few years before coming up to the human world. She loves this world, the people, the land, the way everything is. Rissa loves it all, whats even better is that she likes a guy and has made friends. This is all amazing and Rissa is having a good live, but then what happens when she has to go back. How can she take all this and leave it behind just like that?
Ehmora will happily take the throne from Rissa. Rissa doesn't care and will let her take it, the only problem, Ehmora has to challenge her. Now what can Rissa do? Rissa doesn't want it, but maybe secretly does. She just doesn't want to leave the human world, and how can she both if she does take the throne.
Will she get the life she wanted? Will she give it all up at the last min to take the throne? Will she had it all to Ehmora and go on with her life? Read the book to find out! This is a perfect read for anyone!
