Life is a sequence of choices. Some are deliberate, others are forced upon you. This was a lesson that McKenzie Evans knew all too well. After the miscarriage of her son, she made the hard decision to leave her absentee boyfriend and move in with her former college roommate, Olivia Hamilton. That’s when she was introduced to Andrew Wise, a brilliant attorney, working for his family’s law firm in Sarasota, Florida.
To McKenzie, Drew became her salvation. He had a way of understanding her when no one else could. The closer they became, the more McKenzie found herself falling in love with Drew. He was everything she ever dreamed of in a man, and for the first time in her life, she felt truly alive. There was only one problem. Drew was dating Olivia.
With the help of fate and circumstance, Drew and McKenzie journey down a path of unrequited love and denied feelings. In the end, they must make a choice between their hearts or their consciences. In this one decision they discover that there’s always a glimmer of truth to a lie, that there’s a fine line between love and friendship, and sometimes you have to risk everything to gain everything
My Review: So when I got this book I was excited ti read it and found out it was as good as I thought. The book was written in such a great way, that it had me hooked through the whole story.
So whats going on? We are leaving an old life and heading toward a new one. Kenzie was tired of her boyfriend not being around enough because of work. Then after a miscarriage he was around for a little bit before being gone again. So Kenzie is tired of it and decided to move in with her friend Olivia for a bit. Kenzie meets Drew, Olivia's boyfriend. They all get along well and Kenize and Drew end up becoming closer friends and soon develop feelings for each other. Will they take up on their feelings? Will Kenzie leave it alone and let Drew be with Olivia and never tell her about it?
Now whenever someone has feelings for someone who is taken, it's one crazy situation. It never ever goes perfectly right! Though if it ever does go right, it's very VERY rare. Like you will scream at the book and going crazy at scenes. The ending along, made me upset, because it shouldn't have ended yet! I want to know more, see what Jeanne can come up with next!
I love the whole finding the right path, its a good message and was written just right. I do like how the book wasn't over done, with Kenizie liking a man that was taken. Some books are over done and make this love triangle, that shouldn't have been made.
This book is New Adult, different from my usual reviews of YA. I did enjoy this book, which will make me venture out for other NA books.
