Persephone's relationship with Hades has gone public and the
resulting media storm disrupts her normal life and threatens to expose her as
the Goddess of Spring.
Hades, God of the Dead, is burdened by a hellish
past that everyone's eager to expose in an effort to warn Persephone away.
Things only get worse when a horrible tragedy
leaves Persephone's heart in ruin and Hades refusing to help. Desperate, she
takes matters into her own hands, striking bargains with severe consequences.
Faced with a side of Hades she never knew and
crushing loss, Persephone wonders if she can truly become Hades' queen.
My Review: Okay so the first book I was very meh on.
BUT this book made up for that and finally gave me a world I could sink
into. So if book one was meh for you too, just trust me and stick it out. I was
pleasantly surprised how much better this series got.
Anyway.....
So
everyone knows about Sephy and Hades being together now. So going into work has
gotten a smidge tougher with a mod of people outside her workplace. Now inside
she's summoned by her boss who wants an exclusive on her relationship. Sephy is
all against it but apparently she doesn't have a choice in this matter....at
least not yet anyway. In the meantime Sephy will avoid writing that article and
get to work on others.
When
Sybil comes to her and Lexa about what Apollo has done, Sephy is mad and wants
to expose the truth about this beloved God. Well, lets just say after a night
of drinks and being made at Hades, promises went out the window and an article
about Apollo was released. Well....going to work now meant dealing with a mob
of people angry at her and saying Apollo isn't as bad as she says. Apollo does
come to the underworld about this. What turned from a truth exposing article
and getting Apollo's help down the road, it actually turned into a decent
friendship down the line. With bumps in between of course.
Now
Sephy faces a lot in this book. One being that Lexa was seriously hurt and she
just couldn't see a life in the upperworld without her best friend.
Unfortunately, this is a loss that hits her hard, despite all the effort she
went to help her bestfriend.
Despite
everything, Sephy and Hades have their ups and downs of course but they
continue to connect and build their relationship. Sephy continues to work on
her magic and for a moment everything seems to start settling down.
It won't
last for long. For now a war is about to being.
