I’m the Dixon who left.
Through the good, bad, and
worst imaginable, I stayed gone.
When I return home after a decade, I’m not
surprised by the cold reception from my family... or my brother’s best friend.
Emberly Olsen.
I spent my childhood tormenting her.
Now these days with her feel like the cruelest
sort of unintended revenge.
We’ve changed.
She’s changed.
Pure confidence and sensuality, but her pouty
lips and heavy-lidded eyes scream contempt. And word around town? She’s
untouchable.
But after sharing a few drinks, her snide
comments turn teasing.
Sneers become smiles.
Huffs change to laughs.
Laughs to moans, sweeter than any sound.
Years of animosity ignite into carnal need and
passion.
We can blame it on the whiskey.
I have a feeling we’ll try.
But we aren’t that drunk
My Review: You know the
whole if the boy is being mean to you, then he likes you kind of thing? Well
that's kind of how it goes with these two...
Cayson left. Left the farm,
the town, and Em. Why? Everyone thinks its because of what happened with his
dad. The truth? Well, no one really believed him except for one brother who
took the time to listen to him. Eventually the others will either come around
or just never believe it.
Emberly is in love with
Cayson ever since she could remember. Although growing up she couldn't stand
him at times with all these pranks he pulled on her as kids. There was always
that one prank that really hurt her and it took Cayson coming back to find out
the real prankster behind that.
When Cayson came back it was a mix of
excited, happy, worried, etc. No one really knew what to think or if he would
stay or just up and leave again and will his family even care? One of the first
things he did was go to Brewed where Em was. Boy that first encounter did not
go as planned at all.
When they finally get to a good place and air out everything, it seems like a huge weight has lifted off them and that things can and will change for the better. Cayson and Em finally get their chance and its better than the whiskey.
