When Eadlyn became the first princess of IllĂ©a to hold her own Selection, she didn’t think she would fall in love with any of her thirty-five suitors. She spent the first few weeks of the competition counting down the days until she could send them all home. But as events at the palace force Eadlyn even further into the spotlight, she realizes that she might not be content remaining alone.
Eadlyn still isn’t sure she’ll find the fairytale ending her parents did twenty years ago. But sometimes the heart has a way of surprising you…and soon Eadlyn must make a choice that feels more impossible—and more important—than she ever imagined
My Review: I would love to have just a mini story after this to see where Eady is after some time. This story was amazing and ending on such a strong note.
Eady is such a strong person. She's the first princess who can take the throne. The first to have her own selection. She is going to set a lot of firsts and she does it so well. She may doubt a few things, but she has the best people behind her to help guide through anything.
While the Queen is recovering, the King is staying by her side. So currently that makes Eady the current Queen until her mother is well enough. There is a mix reaction, but for his first big meeting, so does really well. She isn't afraid to show her power and do what she needs to do.
As the book goes on, Eady comes to realize something. Her parents have been at this for a long time and deserves some rest, so this leads to her becoming the true Queen quicker while her parents finally get time to sit back. They will still be there for her, but she is now the Queen.
When it comes to the selection, she breaks a major rule, but its okay. She finally found the person she wants to marry. Finally has found love and a partner to be at her side though everything. Even if he technically isn't part of the selection.
I was so happy to see her grow. Make it through a bunch of rumors, the people's comments, she pushed through it all and is a truly amazing queen.
