This is a world divided by blood – red or silver.

The Reds are commoners, ruled by a Silver elite in possession of god-like superpowers. And to Mare Barrow, a seventeen-year-old Red girl from the poverty-stricken Stilts, it seems like nothing will ever change.

That is, until she finds herself working in the Silver Palace. Here, surrounded by the people she hates the most, Mare discovers that, despite her red blood, she possesses a deadly power of her own. One that threatens to destroy the balance of power.

Fearful of Mare’s potential, the Silvers hide her in plain view, declaring her a long-lost Silver princess, now engaged to a Silver prince. Despite knowing that one misstep would mean her death, Mare works silently to help the Red Guard, a militant resistance group, and bring down the Silver regime.

But this is a world of betrayal and lies, and Mare has entered a dangerous dance – Reds against Silvers, prince against prince, and Mare against her own heart .

My Review: I've seen this book everywhere. Heard so much about it. Loved the idea of it and finally had a chance to read it. And it was perfect!

Red and Silver. The two colors that determine where you belong in this world. Either well off or you gotta break it to make it. But Mare is special. She has red blood, and is working in the Silver Palace. She has a gift. A gift that should make her a silver, yet shes not. But this power can lead to anything, and who knows who will try to get her on their side.

The silvers decide the best way to handle it, is to place her in plain sight.  After all who would think she carried such power? Well Mare ends up helping the Red Guard. A group that plans to take down the Silver regime. So really, things are going to be complicated and she really needs to watch what she does. Any wrong move and her life can be at risk.

For a debut book, this has to be one of the best. It got so much hype, loved by a lot of readers. And when I finally got to it, I was just blown away. Victoria is really talented and I'm so excited to be starting the next book tonight!
