Under a burning sun more than a thousand miles from home, Lynn Stevens is trying to get her life back on track and leave memories of that one fateful night behind. She meets Dan, a young man with strangely erratic behavior and smoldering brown eyes, who is on an involuntary vacation with his parents. In him, she sees her own struggle reflected every time she is starting to get too close.
Dan doesn’t like being touched. But when he sets out to uncover Lynn’s secret, it means he’ll have to tell her some secrets of his own.
‘Heat’ is Lis Lucassen’s New Adult debut novel. This book puts her on the map in the Netherlands as the first-ever NA author from her own country.
My Review: Lis's writing is so amazing, there is no way this could have been her debut book, but it was! She has some talent and I just know you'll love it like I did.
Lynn has finally started to get back on her feet. Working to get her life back to the way it was, or at lest in some kind of order. It'll take time, but Lynn is a strong girl and I know she can get over that night and anything else that comes her way.
Then there's Dan. He acts a little out there, but is just wonderful once you know him. He's on vacation, it should be something fun right? Nah, he isn't thrilled to be there, but his parents dragged him anyway.
Lynn notices him and tries to get close to him. They both have struggles in life and they seem right for each other. It'll just take a little work. Dan doesn't like being touched, but Lynn is determined to get to him. Later Dan will feel the same and work on figuring out all of Lynn's secrets.
An unexpected encounter. These two will help each other with their struggles. Get to know each other and learn that they are great together and things will just work. Its a beautiful story, full of heart filled moments, and surprises. Be ready for an amazing story and have some tissues ready.
