When Rachelle was fifteen she was good—apprenticed to her aunt and in training to protect her village from dark magic. But she was also reckless— straying from the forest path in search of a way to free her world from the threat of eternal darkness. After an illicit meeting goes dreadfully wrong, Rachelle is forced to make a terrible choice that binds her to the very evil she had hoped to defeat.

Three years later, Rachelle has given her life to serving the realm, fighting deadly creatures in an effort to atone. When the king orders her to guard his son Armand—the man she hates most—Rachelle forces Armand to help her find the legendary sword that might save their world. As the two become unexpected allies, they uncover far-reaching conspiracies, hidden magic, and a love that may be their undoing. In a palace built on unbelievable wealth and dangerous secrets, can Rachelle discover the truth and stop the fall of endless night?

Inspired by the classic fairy tale Little Red Riding Hood, Crimson Bound is an exhilarating tale of darkness, love, and redemption.

My Review: Rosamund has done it again! She took a beloved tale and turned it into a dark beauty!

Rachelle had made a mistake when she was a teen, and that's okay. Every teen has made mistakes, though Rachelle made a big one. The very evil she was trying to defeat ends up being bind to her. So she decided to become one of the king's bloodhound. They go after those who he been bonded by the forest and deal with them before anything really bad can happen. If anyone ever found out that Rachelle is bound, she will face huge consequences. In the meantime, she'll work on doing her job,, and finding this door that will lead her to a sword. Which would mean that she can take of the evil.

So she did plan to start the search soon, but ended up being the personal guard for the kings son. She isn't thrilled about it. Armand is not her favorite person. Though when he mentions the story about the door with a few extra details, she listened. Then makes him help her out, while hating having him around all the time.

Of course, they will uncover much more they ever planned along the way. And each page will give you a new look at Red Riding Hood.
