Jay Pencha's senior year is off to a rough start. Time is ticking down, and he’s not sure where he wants to go to College, or what he wants to do with his life.
He’s always heard the same things from his parents…
“Get better grades, study for the SAT, play more sports! If you don’t, you won’t get into P&C College like Gavin. You could learn a thing or two from your older brother!”
But Jay isn’t so sure about Gavin’s “success,” or the choices others want to make for him. He doesn’t want to find any old college, major, or job...
He wants to choose a path that’s meaningful… do work that’s important… anything that makes him feel alive.
When fate throws Jay's middle-class family into turmoil, he has no choice but to question everything.
Now, armed with nothing but courage and a nerdy best friend from a family of technology entrepreneurs, Jay is off on an adventure:
College visits, exploring the startups in his hometown, and adventuring through Silicon Valley, all to answer one simple question… College or not?
He’s either going to find his path in life, or blaze one heck of a trail trying.
My Review: Okay so I liked this book. I liked that Jay wanted to just take his life and make it his own. What people say to you, doesn't really matter. Its what you want to do and how you get there. I never liked those who would tell you how you should live your life. Nope, don't say. Not really a good thing, but I can go on for hours about this.
So Jay continues on with life and next thing you know, his life turns upside down. Its then he will really decide. Go to college, study, get a career and live life. Or skip it, and take it one day at a time. Either way, he won't really know what will happen, there's nothing set in stone. But heck, the journey can be entertaining.
So go ahead and pick up this book! It's worth the read, I'm sure many can relate. And it was just done so well. Chad really does have some writing skills.
