My Review: So I super love Wendy's Sweet books and I had to just try this one.
I finally got it and I wasn't surprised that I loved it. Wendy just has a knack for writing. It was a little odd, I had to get used to the Irish feel and talk. Once I got into it, I started to like Robyn and her family right away. They are a fun and close family, with some cool fae magic. Its all fun in the start with Robyn all excited about graduating and getting a start on life. It also meant that she had to start getting ready to leave for Ireland to meet her future husband. What???? So you see, a fae saw her as a baby and laid claim on her to marry a boy and hopefully have children to keep the line going. But you'll know the whole story within the first few chapters.
I have read many books with fae, and in every book you'll find the fae are a damn tricky bunch who tend to get their way, like all the time. It'll be the day when I read a book where the fae are all nice nice. Anywho, you'll get to read about the fae and their part in this book.
So on they way to Ireland, Robyn's mom drops some big news. Robyn's future man was born into a leprechaun clan.....SURPRISE! Robyn starts rethinking things and isn't happy at all about this news, like can you imagine her and a little man? Imagine having a family? Well lucky for Robyn, McKale is a tall and nice looking guy! Now with that off her mind, she just need to get to know him, make herself like him, get married and start a life together and hopefully be able to keep the family going. Easy peasy!
Right away things aren't too well. They barely talk, the first thing Robyn says just happens to hurt his feelings and the fae don't wait too long before dropping in and then popping back out. Yeah, not the greatest start, but it doesn't stay so bland between them for long, and eventually things start to pick up. McKale didn't know about the fae taking claim and forcing Robyn to do this, and McKale just does it because its his duty and what hes been told. So that sorta put a damper on things, because when Robyn told McKale the reason, he sort of sounded off. Obviously he didn't know that part, but them he sounded more unsure about how things are going to be. And at this point, its still early into the story and its already giving you a ton of things to hold on to and watch unfold in the book.
I loved this book and read it straight through without any sleep and at some point I swear I was speaking like an Irish person for a day.....
I love Wendy's work and hope to read a lot more from her.
