All he knows is that he awoke in a coffin deep within a tomb, and now the whole world thinks he is their savior. All he really wants to know is his name, and why he keeps hearing voices in his head.
My Review: I think that this was a great book. The story was very well written with and the development of the characters made them feel realistic and believable, and the world building in this book was well written and made the transition fairly easy. This story felt unique to me compared to a lot of the other books you would find in this genre. The main hero awakens in a chamber with no memory of who he is, where he is, or what he is meant to do.
The only problems I had with this book was the ending, the fact that the main character was reborn, and his power. The author never really went into great detail about why he was reborn. I understand that he learned about the history Nuadaim while he waited to be reborn, however it doesn’t explain when he was put in the casket to await to be reborn and the amount of time he had to wait. From what I read I believe that he is the only one in his family to be reborn other than his daughter who visited him by chance on her trip through time waiting to be reborn I believe. It didn’t explain if he was put in the casket to be reborn right after birth, though I assume so since there was no history that the people knew of him except for his name before he was reborn, or if they had to wait until a certain time.
At the end the main villain loses his fight against the hero and is defeated through the heroes noble sacrifice. However the villain is not vanquished, instead he just leaves without anyone trying to stop him or take revenge. He lives to spread chaos, death, and destruction another day. Also the hero doesn’t truly defeat the villain. All he does is ruin his plans to become a god and while that is great it doesn’t stop this all powerful villain that has power over death from destroying everything and everyone. Instead of doing that though he just walks away.
