Magic is an illusion. It doesn’t really exist. Or does it?
A horrible car accident destroys Dolores Reynard’s life. But instead of waking up in a hospital bed, she awakens in a teenager’s body. Soon, she discovers she is at the heart of the murderous mystery surrounding the death of Mona, the young girl whose body she occupies. Caught between an evil greater than she ever imagined and a wizard who heals her tattered heart, she is forced to play a dangerous game of intrigue in the hopes of finding a way to return to her previous life.
Will magic be her ally, or will it lead to her demise once and for all.
My Review: This was something different. An older woman in a younger person's body. Yeah, not very normal to wake up like that. Mona was murdered and was brought back to life, but the spirit they stole is Dolores. Right now she can control Mona, while her spirit is in a nice deep sleep. Though the body is not meant to carry more than one soul, so at some point Mona is going to wake up and things are going to pick up.
You may think whats going on with the guy that did all this. Well Eric and Brian aren't the best right now. Eric is a character to like, while Brian is just evil as they come right now. He is one of the worst evil wizards out there, and I mean worst in a good way.
This all becomes some dangerous game to them and the pace just keeps picking up and the writing was done nicely and flowed through the whole story. The character I like the most had to be Eric. I just thought he was the most decent one. Brian was good, but I don't tend to go for the evil wizards and Dolores was just much older. I didn't have many issues with this book. I got through it quickly and enjoyed this idea of taking spirits and being able to put them in another body. Though it can be messy/tricky at times, it makes for a good story!
