Short-Lived is a dark novella set amidst the grittier areas of Phoenix, Arizona. Nine stories tell tales of money, power, life, and death. Short-Lived intricately weaves the lives of a drug addict, his love interest, dealers, and those struggling for power in the streets. Who will come out on top, and who will get left in the dust?
My Review: Wow. Nine stories and each one has a new person and a new challenge to read about. Though each one connects in a way and they will pop up in other stories.
I knew there were going to be some dark parts in these stories and it was done perfectly. You do get an idea of how things can be in the bad parts of Phoenix. It even makes you think what it could be like if you lived in such a bad area.
From the start it drags you in and with each new story you just keep on going. Its well written and flows nicely that you get so into it and totally didn't see what the ending was going to bring. Like I didn't expect it to be the way it was and it just left me excited. I like when I'm either really into a story or when the ending can really surprise me, even if I thought I knew what was coming.
Its very nice and a quick read. Something different and exciting to try. I will be looking forward to more of Michaels writing.
