**This can be read as a STANDALONE. The second book in the Lost series tells Jessica and Parker's story.**
All Jessica wants -as a college graduate — is to be a good girl. She landed the job of her dreams at a museum and is trying to eliminate temptations. No more short skirts (when she can help it). No wild parties. And no men.
She particularly excels at that last thing. . .
Until her path crosses Parker’s. Again. Jessica remembers the last time their paths crossed very well. She was left with a seriously bruised ego. She knows it would be best to avoid him altogether. But the charming Brit makes it hard for her to elude his electrifying pull. He is as irresistible as he is captivating.
And enigmatic.
Because underneath the sleek Armani suit and the sweet British accent that makes her crave his touch, Parker isn’t the perfect gentleman everyone thinks he is.
He’s exactly what Jessica doesn’t want, but desperately needs.
A bad, bad boy.
My Review: Yay!!! Book two is finally here and I can't tell if I love it more or the same as the first book! Though I did find this one to be slightly hotter than the first. That's always a bonus. (: I love that Jessica was going to do this good girl image and I wanted to see if she would actually get a good girl image or watch something else unfold....
Jessica has finally gotten her dream job and is going to start this new life with a good girl image. This was something I was going to either love or not. If you read the first book, you would know the image she was given. Can she go from carefree to goody good? She can have a pretty face and a fun decent life, I wouldn't want everything about her to just change and have this boring life. Jessica is an amazing and strong character that I was happy to read about.
I was very happy with the way Layla wrote Jessica's transition. It wasn't just an overnight change. It was nice and steady and because of that you got to know Jessica even more. I love reading and having a nice bond with a character, rather then just read how she changed overnight.
Now lets talk about Parker! He is amazing despite the bad choices he has made. Even though you probably wouldn't notice. He has always been this kind and gentle man and can easily hide things. Parker has this control thing about him. He has always been in control of himself and his emotions. However when Jessica comes around, Parker isn't the same man. The walls all go down around him. You may think that Jessica can see through him, but I could tell that they are going to end up liking each other.
Oh, and once you get Parker's description, I don't know what would make you want to put the book down afterwards. Parker is perfection and very swoon worthy! He alone could be a major reason just to be sucked into the story, but I promise everything else going on is just as addicting to read! I know I couldn't put this book down and gobbled it up pretty fast! I can't wait to see what Layla can write up next! She has a true talent!
