My Review: Ah Greek and all things goddesses. Love these types of books. These two subjects are hard to combine and have a really good book at the end.
Kaitlin, has managed to grab me and make me fall in love with her writing. Everyone needs to read this book! This book is a best seller type of read. Things like the Goddess Test by Aimee Cart and Everneath by Brodi Ashton. Those are two other authors that have managed to get a great idea of the Persephone and Hades myth and make it amazing.
So now onto the book...Persephone is a beautiful girl who is raised on Earth, without a clue as to who she is. Could she really believe what her mother was telling her? Could she really be a goddess or has her mom lost her marbles. It doesn't sink in until things around start to happen. Maybe being kidnapped by a winter god will convince her to think otherwise. After all, anything can happen now a days. Ha! Kidding, Persephone is not one of those damsel in distress type of girl. She just takes everything into her own hands and does her thing. I like when she takes charge. Not a lot of the books now have her being so strong. Some just stick with the old damsel in distress type of story.
Now a little more about Persephone. She is an amazing character with one heck of a personality. It just shines throughout the story and you can't help but love her. Then you have Hades who is a pretty cool character here. You know how the story goes. Hades takes her to be his bride and keep her in the otherworld. Well Hades is actually a good guy here, he only takes her to keep her safe. The God of Winter is after her. Now this guy is bad, a serial rapist, and not to mention just plain crazy! So you see, Hades helps Persephone here. Now does he actually want her and to keep her in the otherworld with him forever? Well that part will remain a secret. I can't tell you everything now, besides you'd really love to read these parts for yourself.
I think that even if your not the biggest myth/Greek fan, you will find something to love about this book. Throw the mythology out and your still left with an amazing story that you fall in love with and want to see it through. The two guys, Hades and Boreas alone could get you to love this book. These two guys are just ugh!!! Your going to love them and then hate then and them love them again.
