My Review: Fantasy lovers! Here is a book for you! Wizards, Spells, Magic, and more. All of this starts at the very beginning until the end. Romance is also weaved into the story that works so perfectly. Many scenes are written so lovely, that you can picture them as if they were happening in front of you.
We have this master wizard who has his daughter's life planned out. Cali, like many girls, don't want her life planned for her. She believes that there is more to her life that what is planned. She wants to go out and see the world for herself before deciding anything. Plus she does not like the arranged marriage.
On her adventure, Cali meets Galadin. Galadin is half human, taken and raised by pirates. He is now on his own, and is now helping Cali to change her life. He is teaching her skills that will protect herself when she is free of confinement. However her plans hit a wall. Her father learns of this training and will not let things change. He has her locked up in a room, and will not release her. The only way Cali can be free is if she agrees to marry a Mage. Does she agree to this? Well she cast a spell to cloak herself and escape.
What now? Well Cali is on Galadin's ship as a stowaway She wants him to take her to a different island. He can't just do that, but he does want to protect her from her father's army, trying to get her back.....So this story has everything fantasy and romance readers could want. If you don't read that type, well at least give this book a go. This book was very fun to read and I wouldn't mind reading some more.
