Love or life.
Henry or their child.
The end of her family or the end of the world.
Kate must choose.
During nine months of captivity, Kate Winters has survived a jealous goddess, a vengeful Titan and a pregnancy she never asked for. Now the Queen of the Gods wants her unborn child, and Kate can't stop her--until Cronus offers a deal.
In exchange for her loyalty and devotion, the King of the Titans will spare humanity and let Kate keep her child. Yet even if Kate agrees, he'll destroy Henry, her mother and the rest of the council. And if she refuses, Cronus will tear the world apart until every last god and mortal is dead.
With the fate of everyone she loves resting on her shoulders, Kate must do the impossible: find a way to defeat the most powerful being in existence, even if it costs her everything.
Even if it costs her eternity

My Review: This book has it all! Love, war, heart-wrenching moments, and more! Possibly the best ending of a series I have read, though I wish it would go on. So nine months after being kidnapped and pregnant, the day has come for her child. Ava had a part in this, mostly because to protect her husband but Kate is still very mad at her. Cronus is there trying to get Kate to side with him and she will not be harmed along with her son. But agreeing to anything will leave Kate to be with just her son. All Kate wants is to take her kid and be with Henry and put Cronus back in his place. Soon after her son is born, she has this vision with Henry and the rest of the council. Soon it comes true, Henry has entered the island, ready to take them back. Things don't so go pretty though. While Henry fights Kate must find her son. Ava helps her to find her son and soon Kate starts to hate Ava slightly less. But you'll know why when you read this part of the book. Quickly everyone is there, Henry is in the room and notices the boy and is told that is his son. He can't do much right now, Calliope has him held tight along with a weapon that could hurt him. This was the only weapon that could actually harm a god, since nothing can do much damage to a god. Kate does everything she can to distract Calliope so Henry can have a chance to fight back. In the distraction Kate gets stabbed in the arm, that's all Henry needs to get free and fight back, only problem is Henry got stabbed in the chest. That's when things go south, Kate falls into a vision and has to be pulled out before she doesn't ever come back. She wakes up and finds herself in a room in Olympus. Her mom is there taking care of her and finds out Henry is in bad shape and they are doing everything they can. After some things have been done, Kate and James make a plan to see Cronus wife, who happens to be Henry's mom. They travel by plane, because Kate doesn't know to get to places in a flash, plus James likes to travel like humans do. While on the flight Kate goes back into the vision and comes out to James calling her. He want's her to take him into the vision with her, so she does and he quickly makes her leave. Back from the vision James says that wasn't Henry with their son, it was Cronus looking him. Now Kate is all angry now and is more determined now than ever to get her son back. At least she know's that Ava is watching over him, and protecting him as much as she can. They finally reach Africa and meet with Rhea, where she refuses to join in the war or face her husband, but she does heal Henry and next thing you know he is right there in Africa with them. Kate runs to him and they continue with the journey ahead. They go visit Athens, where everything is gone, after Cronus had destroyed everything there except fr the Parthenon. They look around and find pictures on the floor of the Parthenon, that shows the history and Cronus plans. One picture shows him with his queen that looks just like Kate, then she explains to Henry what she had said to Cronus and that she just wants to be a family with him and Milo. They all arrive back in Olympus and make a plan how to make everything right again. Henry also teaches Kate how to move from place to place in seconds. She also takes Henry into her vision to meet Milo and he goes off to explore for Calliope and the others. While in Olympus they have some meetings and each time they don't want Kate doing anything, but hat never does stop her. She also helps them by saying what Cronus plans on doing. Soon the council has plans made and so does Henry and Kate. They along with James all head into Cronus place. They find Ava and Milo and seconds later Calliope and Cronus are there. Calliope just wants to kill Kate but Cronus won't allow that and next thing you know Calliope wants Henry and Milo to stay and for Ava to work her magic on them. Henry and Kate talk silently to themselves and agree on a plan. Henry and Milo will stay there and Henry will pretend to like Calliope while Kate and Jame return home to make more plans. As the book goes along things just keep getting more and more intense. Then finally the final battle has arrived. The council head off while Jame, Kate, and her mom head into the underworld to see Persephone. When they get there James and Kate's mom leave her there thinking she will be safest there. As you know Kate won't stand for it and comes up with her own plan. She and Persephone find the other girls who were killed by Calliope and have they help Kate fight. Since they are dead they can't get hurt but can help with the fight. Once they agree they get back to Cronus place. All the girls grab weapons and free Nicholas. Now on the roof, Kate finds Ava there and tells her what happened. She also spots Henry and Milo and Calliope. Calliope goes after Kate and the other girls go after Calliope. She can't believe that they are there and makes it easier to get the blade and hurt Calliope, Next thing you know she is down, and then her body is gone. She isn't really dead, because the weapons didn't work so well. Eventually the war is over, but not without some sadness. Rhea surprises everyone by showing up and attacking Cronus to make him go peacefully. He agrees and they and Henry go lock him back up. Now Calliope is dead, and so is Ava. Everyone gathers around her as she speaks her final words to everyone. Back at Olympus there is a hologram of Ava laying in a crystal casket and everyone in Olympus gets a chance to say goodbye and then the portal is open for everyone else. One boy that stays there longer and with Nicholas, its her son Nick. After 3 days it was over and Ava was completely gone, only in their memories now. Quickly a meeting comes up, Water will decide who will replace his queen, and asks that Kate take Ava's place until they can find someone. Kate not wanting to leave her home in the Underworld, can't take it. Her son speaks up and will do it, for Ava but he will have to report to Kate and they will take Ava's place together. It is also their job to find someone new for her place. After everything that happened Kate, Henry, and Milo are back in the Underworld, and finally can be a real family. So far this book is the last one, but Aimee might be making more.
