Seventeen-year-old Erin has a problem. Seth has been hers forever, but now an ancient curse is tearing him away. And the demons who invoked it will stop at nothing to claim him as their own. How can she win against a curse so binding that it has damned countless others to this same fate – an eternity alone?

The answer lies in the past. To find it, Erin and Seth must risk all, travelling back in time to a dangerous world where love is forbidden, and life – and death – hang on a pledge.

Follow Erin and Seth as they travel to ancient Shenaya and confront the curse that has plagued their families for millennia. Caught in a war between the Angelic Guardians and the Gefallen, the disembodied dead, they must fight to keep their souls in tact and their love untainted.

My Review:  A strange thing that happened in the story was when Erin and Seth were at the airport. They go looking for a diamond, and they meet this woman who is dead. But next thing you know they are sucked into the diamond. There they are introduce to spirit people, and Erin gets freaked out. From that moment is when their journey really began. I like the main character Erin, she was just easy to like. The way she is treated by Seth at times, gets me annoyed. Although Erin and Seth are soul mates. Erin is ready for her destiny, while Seth is a tad conflicted. Which leads up to the whole time travel that happened. They got to see how the curse got started. That is when they meet Caleb, Talithia, Jared, and Sophia. Along the way they meet some people who are guardians that help them along their journey. During the journey, there is an emotional roller coaster. Getting to see the past and the mistakes that happened, lean to a number of things. No matter what the guardians are always there to help them, weather its to stop a bad decision, or just help with thier destiny. The characters in this story are always messing up, and the cure to the curse is obvious. Choose your own love over anything else. Now with the whole screwing up part can be understandable. Not knowing what to do or turst or engaing in conflict, can be understandable. However it would have been nice if they could trust a little more. Ok so although the book started off slow, it did pick up and got me reading till the last page. I do like the strong details in the book, although some parts have more details than needed. This book also moves at a quick pace, which leads me to the end of the book. You think the book goes on but nope, it ends with one huge cliffhanger.
