Her heart races, her muscles coil, and every impulse in
Alessa’s body screams at her to run… but yet she’s powerless to move.
Still struggling to find her footing after the sudden
death of her parents, the last thing college freshman Alessa has the strength
to deal with is the inexplicable visceral pull drawing her to a handsome
ghostly presence. In between grappling with exams and sorority soirees – and
disturbing recurring dreams of being captive in a futuristic prison hell –
Alessa is determined to unravel the mystery of the apparition who leaves her
breathless. But the terrifying secret she uncovers will find her groping
desperately through her nightmares for answers.
Because what Alessa hasn’t figured out yet is that she’s
not really a student, the object of her obsession is no ghost, and her sneaking
suspicions that something sinister is lurking behind the walls of her
university’s idyllic campus are only just scratching the surface…
The opening installment in a twist-laden trilogy, Stitch
spans the genres of paranormal romance and dystopian sci-fi to explore the
challenges of a society in transition, where morality, vision, and pragmatism
collide leaving the average citizen to suffer the results.
My Review: Alessa is just another girl
studying for her exams, with one small problem. Alessa can't stop thinking
about this ghost with Sapphire eyes. Before this ghost, Alessa had some hard
times. In her senior year, Alessa loses her parent. At this lose Alessa lives
on her own and barley passes by, pretty much ruining her perfect GPA. After
school she searches for colleges, Alessa finds one and moves into a sorority
house, which them she started to see this ghost. The only other person that
knows this is her friend Janie. Janie had an article that might just help
Alessa. The article talks about the house and some info on it that Alessa hadnt
known. So she goes off to find the librarian mentioned in the article. From
there she is given records where she finds the names of previous boys eho lived
there. One of these boys might just be it. Now jumping further in the story.
The day after the sorority party, Alessa went up to the attic for a bath.
During her bath she see's Isaac, her ghost. He looks at her and for the first
time he looks directly at Alessa. The story goes on eith Isaac talking. He
mentions his younger sister and about his life on the farm. As her sister comes
up for her own bath, Isaac realizes he just missed his chance to speak to the
green eyed woman. Isaac goes down to his room and thinks about how he can talk
to her. Now going back to Alessa, she heads back to the library to get
more information. What she finds is shocking and sad. Alessa find that
Isaac and his family died in barn fire. Now Alessa is determined to
help Isaac. The story goes to Isaac. Right now he is confused about the woman
he keeps seeing, He heads down stairs to think, he plays a record and
watches his sister play with candles. Having enough of the record and after
yelling at his sister, Isaac goes upstairs. While upstairs he sees the woman
again who shows him a message, the message said fire. As he wonder what it
could mean he smells it. The smoke that filled the air, he looks out to see
that the barn is engulfed in flames. Now ill go more into the story. Alessa
gets offered a chsnce to help a professor out eith time warp. Just the thing
she was thinking about. Now hoping to end this fight with her friend Janie,
Alessa tells her what just happened and then things change. Alessa is pulled
into a room thats full of cameras and Janie is there. Janie reveals the real
truth to Alessa. Isaac is REAL and they are just living in a fake world for a
movie. Alessa can't grab hold of this information because unlike Janie she
hadn't found a way around her stitch. Not to worry though Janie will help her
out, after all Janie is Alessa's sister and all. Nearing the end Alessa and Joe
go to this meeting where they meet a group of rebels. Alessa agrees to join
them and put an end to this crazyness. During a mission Alessa and Isaac get
caught and thrown into a prison. What happens next will be for you all to find
out. This book was bettter than I thought and I couldnt put it down.
