Sweet Little Thing
The day her mother passed away, Beulah was only given a name. That was it. No other explanation.

Portia Van Allan was not someone Beulah could believe her mother ever knew. Wealthy, self-absorbed and other than the fact Portia was supplying special care for Beulah’s sister, Portia was cruel.

The day Portia’s son returns home for the summer, Beulah discovers that Portia isn’t in charge. This isn’t her home at all. Her late husband left her with nothing. It all belongs to their son who doesn’t seem to like his mother at all.

Jasper Van Allan doesn’t know why his mother has hired a young gorgeous blonde to take care of the house and almost lets her go before he finds out the truth.

Realizing there’s more to Beulah than a stunning face, he keeps finding reasons to be near her all the time. It’s all falling into place, it all begins to make sense . . . until the real lies, the dark secrets, and the skeletons come tumbling out of the Van Allan closet. Twisted truths that will send Beulah running . . .

The stakes are higher than ever, and Anna is determined that the love she feels will be her strength, not a liability. But trying to protect the ones she loves while running for her life and battling demonic forces proves to be perilous—especially as faces are changing and trust is fleeting. When the Duke of Lust sends Anna’s great love, Kaidan Rowe, to work against her, Anna must decide how much she’s prepared to risk.

In the most sensual and fast-paced installment yet, Sweet Reckoning brings all the beloved Neph together one last time to fight for their freedom.

My Review: The best ending I have EVER READ IN MY LIFE! Seriously though, I can't believe I won't be getting anymore Anna or Kai ): I need my dose!

Anna and Kai are together and so very happy. They are going to make the best of everything they can before the time comes. Right now, its nice for Anna to have some calm in her life. She just returned home and head to Jay's place to find that he and Veronica are no more because she is moving pretty far. Though things won't seem so bad for long, because pretty soon the twins step into the picture and things are in motion.

Anna and Ginger go looking for her sister, who happens to be with Jay and they get into a pickle. I shouldn't say what, but I'll say it started to put things into motion. Soon everyone is meeting up. Ginger goes to find Blake, while her sister is with Jay, then Kai and Anna meet up and everything is going crazy and love is in the air! They have to be super extremely cautious right now. The Dukes can never get a word of this. EVER. Which really sucks because the whispers have been everywhere even more lately and are keeping tabs on Anna. She is soooo not in good terms with the Dukes, they all think her and her dad are traitors. Which they aren't wrong.....but aren't taking any real action without proof and making sure there is no way for Anna to fulfill the prophecy.

Know these lovely people they would come up with something to make it all work, and they DID. OMG it was the best thing EVER! I'm way too excited right now....

Anna and Kai tie the knot! Everything done in one day and not only does it show their love for each other, but it will help with this bond and staying pure to go along with the prophecy. I really loved reading that part of the book, I would go way into detail, but then I'd just end up writing the whole chapter out, and that wouldn't be fair. So just go dive into the book.

Then I had another part of the book I enjoyed. The holiday meal, with everyone gathered and being so normal, it made you feel for them when they all seemed happy about it and yet scared because they don't want to be caught. Oh I so loved Patti's reaction when she find out about Kai and Anna, it was so sweet and not crazy at all!

Then came the hard part for me......the ending. I knew the book was ending and you can just feel everything that is going on. I ached, felt, and cried for these characters. When it came to facing the Dukes and finally putting them in their place, so much had happened so fast. A really loving character was lost, thousands were given second chances and went to heaven, and after everything was said and done, it was all over. They were free to live their lives and decide what they were going to do with it. All couples did their thing. Anna and Kai had a beautiful ending....I really loved what they did to expand their family at the end. It all felt perfect and right.

And so I finished the book and I'm pretty sad it's all over. I really loved this world Wendy created and it couldn't have gotten any better. I can't wait to see what she creates next, and hope I fall into that world just as much.

Sweet Peril

Sweet Peril

by Wendy Higgins

Book: Sweet Trilogy #2
Publisher: Harper Teen
Pub Date: April 30 2013
Genre: Demons, Angels, Nephilim, Young Adult
Format: Paperback
Source: Bought
Book Links: Goodreads    Amazon

Anna Whitt, the daughter of a guardian angel and a demon, promised herself she’d never do the work of her father—polluting souls. She’d been naive to make such a vow. She’d been naive about a lot of things.

Haunted by demon whisperers, Anna does whatever she can to survive, even if it means embracing her dark side and earning an unwanted reputation as her school’s party girl. Her life has never looked more bleak. And all the while there’s Kaidan Rowe, son of the Duke of Lust, plaguing her heart and mind.

When an unexpected lost message from the angels surfaces, Anna finds herself traveling the globe with Kopano, son of Wrath, in an attempt to gain support of fellow Nephilim and give them hope for the first time. It soon becomes clear that whatever freedoms Anna and the rest of the Neph are hoping to win will not be gained without a fight. Until then, Anna and Kaidan must put aside the issues between them, overcome the steamiest of temptations yet, and face the ultimate question: is loving someone worth risking their life?

My Review: Sweet Peril is amazing! Fast paced full with romance and killer demon trouble. An exciting sequel to Sweet Evil.

Wendy has been working hard lately, trying to keep up her appearance. Right now, everyone has to work hard, since they are being watched.

Once things have settled a little things start to heat up! First the nun comes by as a spirit to talk to Ann. After the message has been told, Ann quickly rings her dad. Once he arrives they talk and make a plan. Anna and her Neph allies will fight back. Anna has the ability to destroy all these demons. The message told by nun mentioned that once Ann destroys one there is a choice. Either they are given a second chance to heaven or they go straight to hell. So Anna's dad may get the chance to be with his love again. You know whats even better? If they are all gone they are free!! Whoop whoop, there is more but I'll keep that to myself.

Anna and Kapono are off on adventures to get other Neph as allies. They manage to get a few on their side, which is good. Of course Kai and Blake are joining them. Speaking of Kai, he and Anna become something!!!!!!! Ekkkk I want to say so much, but how do I say it without spoiling it all!? Well lets just say when Anna and Kai become BFGF it's sooo cute and funny. Just getting Kai to say it in the book is fun.

In the book Kai and Kapono go on a mission together. You can only imagine how this is gonna be, after reading about these three. Tension, suspense, and oh yeas the romance!! Sweet Peril has everything we have been dying to read since book one ended. Now I can't wait for the next book. I neeeeeed more Kai and Anna, and finding out what will go down with the dukes. OMG the waiting part is the hardest.

Embrace the Forbidden

What if there were teens whose lives literally depended on being bad influences?

This is the reality for sons and daughters of fallen angels.

Tenderhearted Southern girl Anna Whitt was born with the sixth sense to see and feel emotions of other people. She's aware of a struggle within herself, an inexplicable pull toward danger, but Anna, the ultimate good girl, has always had the advantage of her angel side to balance the darkness within. It isn't until she turns sixteen and meets the alluring Kaidan Rowe that she discovers her terrifying heritage and her willpower is put to the test. He's the boy your daddy warned you about. If only someone had warned Anna.

Forced to face her destiny, will Anna embrace her halo or her horns?

My Review: Anna is awesome through this whole book, she may just be one of my favorite female characters ever! Okay so Anna is not like other humans around her, sure she looks the same but she has powers. As she grew older they continued to come and they came at her strong. She was adopted by Patti who raised her like her own even knowing who she really is. You see Anna's real parents aren't normal either. Her mom was an actual angel and her dad a demon. Now she is even more special because angels don't normally take on humans, let alone fall in love with a demon. She is a rare Neph. Now at 16 Anna must figure out more about herself. It all started when her best friend Jay took her to this concert, where she spoke with the drummer backstage and had a moment. He spoke to her and then acted strange like he knows something. Anna shrugs it off until the night of a party where Kaiden the handsome drummer appears again. He reveals that he knows who she is and that he and her are alike. Its not long before she goes to his place to seek more answers about who she is and how this all works. Unfortunately Kaidan's dad does a surprise show up and she quickly has a chat with him. She will stay her good girl self and not do what the demon suggests. Kaidan is the son of the lust demon. Oh joy for Anna, they talk more and go back to Anna's place where he will meet Patti. Overhearing their plans for a trip Kaidan offers to take them for free with no string attached. Patti unable to go because they need the money. She agrees to let Anna go with him, only because time is running out for the one person who holds answers for Anna. The following day they set off together on their way to California. They start off nicely until they stop for the night at the hotel. Things get somewhat out of hand when Kaidan helps teach Anna to use her sense of touch. A kiss ends up happening and lucky Anna is strong to stop it before he gets out of hand. Things quickly get tense and he runs out to "work". The rest of the trip isnt to bad, they have some very good moments and few bad. They nearly have a really steamy night...but the book tells it better. Anna manages to see her dad and it was so much better than she planned. Sadly though they did not make it in time to see the nun, however she does leave her everything in her will. One box is very special and holds one of the greatest things ever. The way back, Anna does take a flight home, while Kaidan drive home. Once you get to this part it will pull you in like nothing you have ever read before! As the book goes along the story becomes to great because next thing you know, the book is over! If only I knew it would be this awesome I wouldn't have let it sit on my shelf for so long.
