Weekly Spotlight - House of Night Pt. 3

Destined

In Destined, the forces of Light and Dark collide as their epic struggle focuses on Tulsa’s House of Night. Zoey is home where she belongs, safe with her Guardian Warrior, Stark, by her side – and preparing to face off against Neferet. Kalona has released his hold on Rephaim, and, through Nyx’s gift of a human form, he and Stevie Rae are finally able to be together – if Rephaim can truly walk the path of the Goddess and stay free of his father’s shadow.

But is Zoey really safe? Does she truly know those who are closest to her? And will love win when it is tested by the very soul of Darkness?

Hidden

At last, Zoey has what she wanted: the truth is out. Neferet's evil has been exposed, and the High Council is no longer on her side—but she's far from done wreaking havoc in the vampyre world. First, a mysterious fire ravages the stables. Then, Neferet makes a devastating move that will test them all.

With the seeds of distrust sown and Darkness breeding chaos at the House of Night, everyone must band together—but that's proving to be more difficult than ever before. The twins are barely speaking, and the House of Night's former enemy, Kalona, has now become their warrior, pushing their trust to the limit.

To top it off, Zoey is pretty darn sure she might be losing her mind. She saw something when she looked at Aurox through the Seer Stone that she can hardly explain to herself, let alone her friends. Is it possible that Heath has come back in a different form? Is that why Zoey's so intrigued by Aurox, when it's so obvious that he's dangerous? And who would believe her if she told them?

Zoey knows that following her instinct about Aurox might be just what they need to defeat evil... but if she's wrong, it could cause the destruction of those closest to her. With the tension at a breaking point and friendships on the line, can the nerd herd come together to stop the spread of Darkness before it's too late?

Revealed

Revealed is the spellbinding eleventh and penultimate installment in the #1 New York Times bestselling vampyre series by PC and Kristin Cast.

Drastically altered after her fall at the end of Hidden, Neferet is now more dangerous than ever―and her quest for vengeance will wreak havoc on humans, as well as Zoey and her friends. Chaos is loosed in Tulsa and the House of Night is blamed. Can Zoey stop Neferet in time to keep her anger from escalating to full-on war? Or will someone else have to step in to take the fall?

Redeemed

The final electrifying installment in the #1 New York Times bestselling vampyre series

Zoey Redbird is in trouble. Having released the Seer Stone to Aphrodite, and surrendered herself to the Tulsa Police, she has isolated herself from her friends and mentors, determined to face the punishment she deserves—even if that means her body will reject the change, and begin to die. Only the love of those closest to her can save her from the Darkness in her spirit; but a terrible evil has emerged from the shadows, more powerful than ever…

Neferet has finally made herself known to mortals. Crowning herself a Dark Goddess, she is evil unleashed and is enslaving the citizens of Tulsa. The vampyres of the House of Night have banded with the police, and are gathering every last resource they have, but they know that no single vampyre is strong enough to vanquish her—unless that vampyre has the power to summon the elements as well as the ability to wield Old Magick. Only Zoey is heir to such power…but because of the consequences of using Old Magick, she is unable to help.

In the final novel in the House of Night series, an epic battle of Light versus Darkness will decide who is redeemed…and who is forever lost.

Weekly Spotlight - House of Night Pt. 2

Hunted

What if the hottest guy in the world was hiding a nameless evil, and all he wanted was you? At the start of this heart-pounding new installment of the bestselling House of Night series, Zoey’s friends have her back again and Stevie Rae and the red fledglings aren’t Neferet’s secrets any longer. But an unexpected danger has emerged. Neferet guards her powerful new consort, Kalona, and no one at the House of Night seems to understand the threat he poses. Kalona looks gorgeous, and he has the House of Night under his spell. A past life holds the key to breaking his rapidly spreading influence, but what if this past life shows Zoey secrets she doesn’t want to hear and truths she can’t face?

Tempted

"I can never leave you in peace. You and I are bound. We will be each other's salvation, or each other's doom." He took a step closer, and I mirrored his movement by taking a step back. "Which shall it be? Salvation or doom?"

Zoey Redbird, now High Priestess of the shattered House of Night, is doing her best to hold everything together while dealing with her beloved, injured grandmother, her moody boyfriend, her secretive best friend, and the aftermath of the victory over her former mentor and a terrible, beautiful dark angel.

But Neferet and Kalona have only been banished, not defeated, and everyone knows they're heading straight for the Vampyre High Council, where Zoey must follow.

Zoey might be a High Priestess, but she's still just a teenager. And she's the only hope the world has.

Burned
When friends stop trusting each other, Darkness is there to fan the flames….

Things have turned black at the House of Night. Zoey Redbird's soul has shattered. With everything she's ever stood for falling apart, and a broken heart making her want to stay in the Otherworld forever, Zoey's fading fast. It's seeming more and more doubtful that she will be able pull herself back together in time to rejoin her friends and set the world to rights. As the only living person who can reach her, Stark must find a way to get to her. But how? He will have to die to do so, the Vampyre High Council stipulates. And then Zoey will give up for sure. There are only 7 days left…

Enter BFF Stevie Rae. She wants to help Z but she has massive problems of her own. The rogue Red Fledglings are acting up, and this time not even Stevie Rae can protect them from the consequences. Her kinda boyfriend, Dallas, is sweet but too nosy for his own good. The truth is, Stevie Rae's hiding a secret that might be the key to getting Zoey home but also threatens to explode her whole world.

In the middle of the whole mess is Aphrodite: ex-Fledgling, trust-fund baby, total hag from Hell (and proud of it). She's always been blessed (if you could call it that) with visions that can reveal the future, but now it seems Nyx has decided to speak through her with the goddess's own voice, whether she wants it or not. Aphrodite's loyalty can swing a lot of different ways, but right now Zoey's fate hangs in the balance.
Three girls… playing with fire… if they don't watch out, everyone will get Burned.

Awakened

Exonerated by the Vampyre High Council and returned to her position of High Priestess at Tulsa’s House of Night, Neferet has sworn vengeance on Zoey. Dominion over her immortal consort Kalona is only one of the weapons she plans to use against Z. But Zoey has found sanctuary on the Isle of Skye and is being groomed by Queen Sgiach to take over for her there. Being Queen would be cool, wouldn’t it? Why should she return to Tulsa? After losing her human consort, Heath, she will never be the same – and her relationship with her super-hot-warrior, Stark, may never be the same either… And what about Stevie Rae and Rephaim? The Raven Mocker refuses to be used against Stevie Rae, but what choice does he have when no one in the entire world, including Zoey, would be okay with their relationship? Does he betray his father or his heart?

Things have settled down at the Tulsa House of Night since Zoey and the gang closed the tear between worlds and sent Other Kevin back to the Other World. Neferet hasn't stirred. Damien and Jack are falling in love all over again. Stevie Rae and Rephaim are back in Tulsa where they belong. The Depot Restaurant is being rebuilt with the enthusiastic involvement of local humans. A new school year has begun, and Zoey's exchange student program with public schools is really taking off. All is well. But if all is well, why is Zoey increasingly withdrawn and moody?Sadly, Stark is sure he knows the answer to that question. Zoey can't stop thinking about following her brother to the Other World, and Stark isn't deluding himself about why. Of course she wants to be sure her brother is okay. Of course she wants to help defeat Neferet in yet another world and be sure the balance between Light and Darkness is restored. But the real reason Z is so drawn to that other House of Night world is because Heath Luck, her childhood sweetheart, is alive in that world-alive and mourning her death. In Lost, we follow Zoey, Stevie Rae, and Rephaim to an alternative version of the House of Night, where dangers take the form of friends and allies are found in the strangest places. Will Z return to our world and leave Heath to his? And if she does, will Stark forgive her for leaving? Find out in the second part of this exciting new House of Night Other World adventure!

My Review: Other Kevin is back in his world and is determined to make changes. He goes to see grandma Redbird. He tries to explain hes different, he has his humanity and a gift from redbird from the other world.

From there they move to the location of the resistance. Grandma believes him and now he'll have to convince the resistance he's one of the good guys. In this world its dangerous and anything can happen with Neferet in charge. The resistance is wary of Kevin at first. After explaining he had been in another world, passed out copies of Neferet's diary, and helped save everyone, they are slowly accepting him.

Back in the Other World, Zoe is missing Other Kevin and wondering what he is up to. She's also not sleeping, having nightmares, odd feelings and just not herself lately. Stark can feel it as well but she won't tell them whats really going on..

Two world and somehow Neferet is causing trouble everywhere.

I loved how this story combines all the worlds and unexpected twists....I can't wait for the next book!!!!

Weekly Spotlight - House of Night Series

“You are old beyond your years Zoeybird. Believe in yourself and you will find a way. But remember darkness does not always equate to evil just like light does not always bring good.”
― P.C. Cast, Marked

Marked
The House of Night series is set in a world very much like our own, except in 16-year-old Zoey Redbird's world, vampyres have always existed.  In this first book in the series, Zoey enters the House of Night, a school where, after having undergone the Change, she will train to become an adult vampire -- that is, if she makes it through the Change.  Not all of those who are chosen do.  It's tough to begin a new life, away from her parents and friends, and on top of that, Zoey finds she is no average fledgling.  She has been Marked as special by the vampyre Goddess, Nyx.  But she is not the only fledgling at the House of Night with special powers.  When she discovers that the leader of the Dark Daughters, the school's most elite club, is misusing her Goddess-given gifts, Zoey must look deep within herself for the courage to embrace her destiny--with a little help from her new vampyre friends.

Betrayed
Fledgling vampyre Zoey Redbird has managed to settle in at the House of Night.  She's come to terms with the vast powers the vampyre goddess, Nyx, has given her, and is getting a handle on being the new Leader of the Dark Daughters. Best of all, Zoey finally feels like she belongs--like she really fits in. She actually has a boyfriend…or two. Then the unthinkable happens: Human teenagers are being killed, and all the evidence points to the House of Night. While danger stalks the humans from Zoey's old life, she begins to realize that the very powers that make her so unique might also threaten those she loves. Then, when she needs her new friends the most, death strikes the House of Night, and Zoey must find the courage to face a betrayal that could break her heart, her soul, and jeopardize the very fabric of her world.

Chosen
Dark forces are at work at the House of Night and fledgling vampyre Zoey Redbird’s adventures at the school take a mysterious turn.  Those who appear to be friends are turning out to be enemies.  And oddly enough, sworn enemies are also turning into friends. Her best friend, Stevie Rae, is undead and struggling to maintain a grip on her humanity. Zoey doesn’t have a clue how to help her, but she does know that anything she and Stevie Rae discover must be kept secret from everyone else at the House of Night, where trust has become a rare commodity.  Speaking of rare: Zoey finds herself in the very unexpected and rare position of having threeboyfriends.

Untamed
Life sucks when your friends are pissed at you. Just ask Zoey Redbird – she’s become an expert on suckiness. In one week she has gone from having three boyfriends to having none, and from having a close group of friends who trusted and supported her, to being an outcast. Speaking of friends, the only two Zoey has left are undead and unMarked. And Neferet has declared war on humans, which Zoey knows in her heart is wrong. But will anyone listen to her?  Zoey's adventures at vampyre finishing school take a wild and dangerous turn as loyalties are tested, shocking true intentions come to light, and an ancient evil is awakened in PC and Kristin Cast's spellbinding fourth House of Night novel.

In the final electrifying novel in the HoN series, Neferet has finally made herself known to mortals. A Dark Goddess is loose on Tulsa and the world. No single vampyre is strong enough to vanquish her - unless that creature has the power to summon the elements as well as the ability to wield Old Magick. Only Zoey Redbird is heir to such power…but because of the consequences of using Old Magick, she is unable to help. Find out who will win and who will lose in this epic battle of Light versus Darkness

My Review: I can't believe this series is over. I have been reading these books for years now and it was this series that reignited my love for reading.

This was the best book of all, despite it being the last one. And it gave you so many feels, which was just amplified at the end. Ugh the end was just too good, there needs to be some kind of spin off now.

Okay so, Zoey is now in jail. She keeps blaming herself, and rather just reject the change. However, she was not the cause, it was Neferet who killed those two guys. Its always Neferet behind all this horrible crap. I'm glad Detective M. finally realized that. After all, he will need her help and her friends help. Otherwise Neferet might actually win and we just can't have that happen.

So Zoey is freed and needs to meet with everyone, explain the situation and come up with a plan to stop Neferet.  They come up with a plan and things just start moving. Zoey needs to use the seer stone. Thantos will perform a spell. The circle will gather and do whatever they can to help. In the end, you hope they all make it through this crazy mess. There is a death I didn't expect, but you get a glimpse into whats going on in the otherworld with Nyx, and it made everything okay.

The ending though, I just can't get over it. You can probably figure out that they found a way to stop Neferet. But I won't say how. There was a price in the end, to be paid by the cost of a true love. Does that make you want the read book? It definitely wasn't who I thought it would be.  And they all finally made it through the change.  Then you get a few pages about whats been going on after that night. And I just have to keep saying it, but it was the best ending ever!!!!

Zoey is finally home where she belongs, safe with her Guardian Warrior, Stark, by her side, and preparing to face off against Neferet—which would be a whole lot easier if the High Counsel saw the ex-High Priestess for what she really is. Kalona has released his hold on Rephaim, and, through Nyx’s gift of a human form, Rephaim and Stevie Rae are finally able to be together—if he can truly walk the path of the Goddess and stay free of his father’s shadow...

But there are new forces at work at the House of Night. An influx of humans, including Lenobia’s handsome horse whisperer, threatens their precarious stability. And then there’s the mysterious Aurox, a jaw-droppingly gorgeous teen boy who is actually more—or possibly less—than human. Only Neferet knows he was created to be her greatest weapon. But Zoey can sense the part of his soul that remains human, the compassion that wars with his Dark calling. And there’s something strangely familiar about him...

My Review: So Heath is coming back and Zoey finds a new power that can bring people back from the dead. In this book. Damien and the Twins have returned to join Zoey after their break. Neferet has increased in her darkness level. She has began to send her darkness over the House of Night school. Oh and did you know Neferet is on her own? Well she is (: No more Kalona or Raven Mockers to help her.  Kalona has instead pledged to be  Thanatos' warrior. Its also hard to read that the 'twins" are no longer twins anymore. One thing  I hadnt expected was that Dragon would die, but at least he can be with his wife Anastasia again.

Zoey needs a break after some serious excitement. Sadly, the House of Night school for vampyres doesn’t feature breaks on its curriculum—even for a High Priestess in training and her gang. Plus juggling three guys is no stress reliever, especially when one is a sexy Warrior so into protecting Zoey that he’s sensing her emotions. Wider stresses lurk too, and the dark force in Tulsa’s tunnels is spreading. Could Stevie Rae be responsible for more than a group of misfit fledglings? And Aphrodite’s visions warn Zoey to stay away from the immortal Kalona and his dark allure—but they also show that only Zoey can stop him. She’s not exactly keen to meet up, but if Zoey doesn’t go to Kalona he’ll exact a fiery vengeance on those closest to her. She just has to find the courage to do what’s necessary, or everything that’s important to her will be destroyed.

My Review: In this book Zoey finally gets rid of Erick and managed to beat one of Aphrodite's visions. While the school is in trouble with the students and teachers believing that Neferet is  still on Nyx's side. As that is going on Zoey witnesses Heath's death, which causes her soul to shatter. Now a lifeless body Zoey is trapped in the other world, while there is is up to Stevie Rae to take over and help her friends figure out a way to bring Zoey back and soon!

My Review: This book has alot of good and bad init. First off Zoey and Stark are going to be together for good. Stevie Rae and Rephaim are a thing and Stevie hopes that Rephaim will become a boy like in Aphrodite's vision. Rephaim later does choose Nyx and she agree's to turn him into a human only at night. Now for the bad. Neferet needs a sacrifice in order to summon a great evil, and the sacrifice she chose is Jack. Jack was such an innocent character it made his sacrifice even worse.

My Review: Zoey and her friends are hiding from Kalona and Neferet, who now calls herself Queen Tsi Sgili. Neferet has began a war on all humans while Kalona is off believing that Zoey is the chosen one. Zoey resembles the same woman who have imprisoned Kalona all those years ago. My Review: This book takes a turn from the other books. In this book we see new sides to our main characters,(which only make them even better). With this book I found that I couldn't finish it fast enough to get to the next book. The twist that constantly arrive, the romantic journey Zoey goes through, and the emotion from all these characters are truly amazing in this book. It just makes you want to indulge in the next book.

This time Zoey is now single, yep no more guys. Well Heath doesn't count, since he has been all over her for a long time now. Her group of friends are gone, they all just stopped talking to her and some with each other, so that doesn't help the way she is feeling right now. Now boyfriends, no friends to lean on, things  just aren't going right for Zoey right now. Zoey then has to figure out what to do with Neferet, who has decided she is going to go all evil and not care about their goddess anymore. If Neferet don't like, she will just declare war, or kill them, which ever happens to sound more entertaining for her.

My Review: This one started off slow, but after about fifty pages, I was captivated.
It's a really emotional book, and deals with a wide range of themes including death, and as the title suggests, betrayal. The loyalty among Zoey's group never falters though, and it really strengthens the book. Zoey Continues to get a hold on everything thats going on and gets hit with new responsibilities. I believe this book was strong than the one before and I find that only makes the series even better.

My Review: I love this book. It was the first book I read when looking for a genre to read. Ever since this book I  have been reading other books just like this. This book flows just right and will have you turning the pages faster than you can. Zoey Redbird is chosen to join the House of Night. After being marked she noticed she wasnt like the others. Her Crescent was filled in completely. Any new members are marked with just the outline of a crescent moon. Being the first fledgling with a full crest means big things for Zoey Redbird.
