Weekly Spotlight - Everneath

“If you're gonna leave, I wish you'd just leave. Why do you keep coming back if you're not going to stay? Because even when you're gone, you're never really gone... I won't get over it if you keep coming back. Losing you once was hard enough. And now you're here again and everything's coming back. I'm going to get screwed. And I can't do it again.”

 Brodi Ashton, Everneath

Everneath
Last spring, Nikki Beckett vanished, sucked into an underworld known as the Everneath, where immortals Feed on the emotions of despairing humans. Now she's returned- to her old life, her family, her friends- before being banished back to the underworld... this time forever.

She has six months before the Everneath comes to claim her, six months for good-byes she can't find the words for, six months to find redemption, if it exists.

Nikki longs to spend these months reconnecting with her boyfriend, Jack, the one person she loves more than anything. But there's a problem: Cole, the smoldering immortal who first enticed her to the Everneath, has followed Nikki to the mortal world. And he'll do whatever it takes to bring her back- this time as his queen.

As Nikki's time grows short and her relationships begin slipping from her grasp, she's forced to make the hardest decision of her life: find a way to cheat fate and remain on the Surface with Jack or return to the Everneath and become Cole's.

Everbound
Nikki Beckett could only watch as her boyfriend, Jack, sacrificed himself to save her, taking her place in the Tunnels of the Everneath for eternity — a debt that should’ve been hers. She’s living a borrowed life, and she doesn’t know what to do with the guilt. And every night Jack appears in her dreams, lost and confused and wasting away.

Desperate for answers, Nikki turns to Cole, the immortal bad boy who wants to make her his queen — and the one person least likely to help. But his heart has been touched by everything about Nikki, and he agrees to assist her in the only way he can: by taking her to the Everneath himself.

Nikki and Cole descend into the Everneath, only to discover that their journey will be more difficult than they’d anticipated — and more deadly. But Nikki vows to stop at nothing to save Jack — even if it means making an incredible sacrifice of her own.

In this enthralling sequel to Everneath, Brodi Ashton tests the bonds of destiny and explores the lengths we’ll go to for the ones we love.

Evertrue
Now that Nikki has rescued Jack, all she wants is to be with him and graduate high school. But Cole tricked Nikki into feeding off him, and she’s begun the process of turning into an Everliving herself... which means she must feed on a Forfeit soon — or die.

Terrified for her survival, Nikki and Jack begin a desperate attempt to reverse the process using any means possible. Even Cole, who they expected to fight them at every turn, has become an unlikely ally — but how long can it last? Nikki needs to feed on Cole to survive, Cole needs Nikki to gain the throne in the Everneath, Jack needs Nikki because she is everything to him — and together, they must travel back to the Underworld to undo Nikki’s fate and make her mortal once more. But Cole isn’t the only one with plans for Nikki: the Queen has not forgotten Nikki’s treachery, and she wants her destroyed for good. Will Nikki be forced to spend eternity in the Underworld, or does she have what it takes to bring down the Everneath once and for all?

In this stunning conclusion to the Everneath trilogy, Brodi Ashton evokes the resiliency of the human spirit and the indomitable power of true love.

My Review: Why did this series end?! Seriously!!!!! The book was way too amazing to be the last one! I really want something to come after this. Even if its a short story, I need more Nikki and her world.

Nikki just can't catch a break right now. I mean she got Jack back and everything is all peachy with them. However Nikki still has to worry about Cole. She needs to find him and destroy his heart, along with getting hers back. Whats going to really suck, is that if she doesnt feed or feed off Cole she will get weak and die.

Want to really make things hard? Nikki and Jack will destroy the Everneath. Uh, that will be a challenge and not to mention what it will mean to the other people living there. At least they have Cole. Sounds crazy right? Well you see, Cole lost his memory after being tortured, but I'll let you figure out why that happened. So with Cole as a blank slate, Nikki plants a story for Cole and eventually he remembers everything near the end. If you like Cole, you may hate him in this book. If you don't like him, well you may wish he never showed back up, but either way they need Cole. So you may just yell at the book like I did.

So the Everneath situation. Nikki wants to destroy it and just have a normal life. To do this she will need help and must to it within a time frame. Nikki and Jack will make a plan to destroy it withing one week. First the shade network, then the hearts and it should all go down. What Nikki didnt plan on was the queen. Now Cole has wanted her to be queen but Nikki didnt want that. So they should be able to destroy the Everneath without having to kill her. Well what does end up happening is surprising. What happens after you manage to destroy everything and the only hearts left is Nikki's and Cole's. Those last moments will grip your heart tight. Think about it, Cole is hundreds of years old, what could really happen if his heart was broken?

With the Everneath taken care of, Nikki can finally have the normal life she has always wanted. Nikki and Jack together forever and a lovely life ahead of them. I can't believe how it ended and really wish that there is at least one more book in the series. I loved every page of these books and hope Brodi comes up with another addicting and beautiful world.

My Review:  Nikki Beckett, has escaped to the Everneath and given herself to the Everliving. She has chosen to give them her life’s essence in exchange for the numbness of having them strip away her layers of pain, her emotions and her memories. But the Feed had ended, instead of heading off quietly into the Tunnels or choosing another fate with Cole, she decided to Return. She has only six months to say her goodbyes. Half of a year may seem like enough time to repair any damage she’s caused, it’s enough time for her to realize that being back with her family and friends was where she wanted to be right now. Jack she could never say goodbye to, but she will have to when he does the unthinkable for Nikki.
