YOU CAN BE A VII. IF YOU GIVE UP EVERYTHING.
For Kitty Doe, it seems like an easy choice. She can either spend her life as a III in misery, looked down upon by the higher ranks and forced to leave the people she loves, or she can become a VII and join the most powerful family in the country.
If she says yes, Kitty will be Masked—surgically transformed into Lila Hart, the Prime Minister's niece, who died under mysterious circumstances. As a member of the Hart family, she will be famous. She will be adored. And for the first time, she will matter.
There's only one catch. She must also stop the rebellion that Lila secretly fostered, the same one that got her killed and one Kitty believes in. Faced with threats, conspiracies and a life that's not her own, she must decide which path to choose—and learn how to become more than a pawn in a twisted game she's only beginning to understand.
My Review: LOVE!! Aimee's The Goddess Test Series was AMAZING, and her newest series does NOT disappoint! I was hooked from the very first page and finished the book in one day! I have to really like the book or author to sit there and finish the book in one day.
Aimee has a way with writing that I love and can't wait to read more of her books and of course book two of this new series!
Okay so Pawn is a book that has a world where everything is controlled by the government in a sense. You are given a test at seventeen. This test will determine what rank you are. I-II is low, III is about average, and IV V VI are high ranks.
Kitty is now 17 and took her test and was ranked with a III. She isn't very happy about it, she really thought she would get a higher number and have the life she always dreamed of. When Benji meets up with her, she reveals that she got her assignment and in a different location. Now she must go to the other side of the country and do her job. Benji doesn't like the idea and Kitty doesn't either. To make things harder, Kitty has and orange and a guard stopped them and wanted to know where the orange came from. Now you can either get killed or away with this. The two of them ran off before anything could get worse. They soon head back to the home where Kitty stays in the kitchen to talk to the head of the house, a really awesome chick who thinks of things that defy the government, which could get her killed.
A visit of a guard and an official at the house makes things hard. Kitty was able to hide, but really wants to leave now with a girl who lives her life serving men, if you get the point. Benji hates that and can't picture any man touching his girl. So Benji tells Kitty to marry him and for them to run off and have their own life. This all sounds great and all, but where can they go? Most of the land is owned by their government, so how can they be safe?
I really loved this book so much! If I keep going now, I would be giving out to much spoilers. I think I left enough of those to make you all want this book.
If you haven't heard of Aimee Carter, or been ify on her books, check out my review on her Goddess Test Series, and I'm sure you will love it.
