Boyfriend
The hottest player on the Moo U hockey team
hangs a flyer on the bulletin board, and I am spellbound:
Rent a boyfriend for the holiday. For $25, I will be your Thanksgiving date. I
will talk hockey with your dad. I will bring your mother flowers. I will be
polite, and wear a nicely ironed shirt…
Now everyone knows it’s a bad idea to introduce your long-time crush to your
messed-up family. But I really do need a date for Thanksgiving, even if I’m not
willing to say why. So I tear his phone number off of that flyer… and
accidentally entangle our star defenseman in a ruse that neither of us can
easily unwind.
Because Weston's family is even nuttier than mine. He needs a date, too, for
the most uncomfortable holiday engagement party ever thrown.
There will be hors d'oeuvre. There will be faked PDA. And there will be
pro-level awkwardness…
A Match Made for Thanksgiving
Advertising executive Nick Wong enjoys living
in Toronto. He loves late nights partying and taking women back to his
penthouse. And so it is with great reluctance that he returns to his boring
hometown of Mosquito Bay for Thanksgiving.
This year, however, is even worse than usual. His interfering parents and
grandparents, frustrated with the lack of weddings in the family, have invited
blind dates for him and his three siblings. Nick’s brother Greg has been set up
with Lily Tseng, who just so happens to be Nick’s latest one-night stand, the
one he can’t get out of his mind.
Although Nick has never been interested in settling down, Lily has him
reconsidering. Perhaps he’s good for more than a single night of sex,
dumplings, and bubble tea after all. But first, he has to get through this
painful weekend with his family and convince her that she should be with him,
not Greg…
With and Without You
If high school seniors Siena
and Patrick were a superlative, they'd be the Couple Most Likely to Marry.
They've been dating for three solid years, and everyone agrees they're perfect
for each other. But with college on the horizon, Siena begins to wonder whether
staying together is the best idea. Does she really want to be tied down during
possibly the most transformative years of her life? So she makes a decision to
break up with Patrick, convincing herself it's for the best. Before she can say
the words, though, he beats her to the punch: his family is moving out of
state. Caught off guard by the news, Siena agrees to stay with Patrick,
believing their relationship will naturally fizzle out with time and distance.
But over a series of visits throughout the school year, Siena begins to see a
different side of Patrick--one that has her falling in love with him all over
again.
