I should have known everything was going to change when she walked into my tattoo shop...

Timid as hell and gorgeous to the extreme. I knew better than even thinking about touching a woman like that.
My life is dangerous.
My calling wicked.
Willing to cross any line to protect the innocent.
I thought I’d never see her again until my little boy tumbled and busted his lip, and I found her working at the doctor’s office.
The woman who’d taken possession of my thoughts.
When it becomes clear she’s in trouble, I offer up a deal.
Twenty questions to earn her trust.
Too bad trusting me is the last thing she should do.
With one kiss, I’m addicted. With one night, we’re falling into a passion greater than either of us has ever known.
The voices in my head warn I can never keep her. She can’t know the secret life I lead.
Only she’s keeping a secret, too.
And I’ll do whatever it takes to keep her safe, even if it means losing everything…

My Review: Oh, A.L. Jackson, what have you done to me?!

This book ruined me. It had so many elements that hit close to home that it left me such a mess and it hadn't even hit the halfway mark yet.

It even gave me hope in my own situation. This book was absolute perfection and now my new favorite. This new series is going to be a memorable favorite.

River is doing his thing in his tattoo shop. Having a late night session with Trent (Yes some familiar names are in this book). All is going well until Charleigh walks into his shop. He's technically closed now and couldn't take her, but Trent seeing an opportunity here, gives up the rest of his spot and lets Charleigh have it. (Yes, Trent will boast about it later on how he was right).

Charleigh is running, and is trying her hardest to live this hidden life as best she can. It starts with a tattoo to be a reminder to her and it's so strong that River does the tattoo and then tells her to go and do just what it says.

Neither expected to meet again, but a tumble down some steps brings River's son into the doctors office where they both end up meetings once again.

Charleigh's new bestie Raven also just so happens to be River's brother which she gets to know more of him and the family and at gathering where all donations go to the animals. You can't say no, (least not to Raven) and show up and for once Charleigh let's go for a little. But those brief moment's didn't last long until she could sense someone was there.

It was then that River could sense it too. That she was running from something, from someone and had to protect her.

Together they are everything you could want in a couple and make the best little family together.

As you near the end and secrets are revealed and the danger comes and goes. It's that happy ending that you craved to read and finally get. Finally see this family become whole and a new life beginning for all of them.
