My Review: It's safe to say that after a few books by Alta, she's certainly becoming a favorite of mine. I love the way she write these Dark Romances. Just be certain Dark Romance is your thing, because some of her books can be triggering.
Any who, we start off with Locke attending a funeral for his late friend Gabriel, where he is annoyed at how harden everyone there was. The tears, emotions, nothing was there. But when Gabriel's own daughter isn't crying, well that just makes it all seem more somber.
Storee, who is standing there is quick to speak her mind when Locke approaches her. It's not until they are walking that she finally let those tears out. She is feeling alone and in a place that just sucks people in and never lets them go.
A year goes by and Storee is just miserable. Working in a job she could care less about but she needs the money. She could continue life as is or she can sign up for The Hunt. Basically get chased, get screwed by the guy that's caught you and then you're rewarded with jewels, money and other gifts. It's one night, and you don't see who the guy is, so really what could go wrong.
Locke on the other hand, can't stand seeing Storee work this job. She's got a trust fund and could use it and be among these fancy people she's been serving instead. He's protective of her. Feels that its his job to look after her now and be her guardian weather she wanted it or not.
When the Hunt begins, things get even better....Locke knows she joined and all restraint he may have had is out the window. Storee will be his target and he will finally bring those fantasies to life.
I loved this story. It has quickly become my favorite book by Alta and I certainly can't wait to get my hand on more of her books. It's simply amazing and she does Dark Romance right!
