Twin sisters, Mercy and Hunter are witches, direct
descendants of the Goode family, the founders of their town. After the murder
of their mother at the hands of a foul demon, they have become the protectors
of the Gates to different underworlds--ancient portals between their world and
realms where mythology rules and the darkest of creatures exist.
Mercy and Khenti are trapped in the Ancient Egyptian
Underworld and need Hunter’s help to escape. But while Hunter searches for a
way to save them, other evil threatens Goodeville. Amphitrite is still
looming–and she wants vengeance against Hunter. With the gates rapidly
weakening, Amphitrite lures out a deadly creature and sets it free on the
residents of Goodeville. It will take everything in Mercy and Hunter’s power to
stop the goddess and seal the gates once and for all.
My Review: I'm so glad I stuck this series out. The first two
weren't loves, but it was this final book that finally got me. This has been a
rough series for me because I have loved P.C. and Kirsten for years and this
has been the one series that was the hardest to get into.
I could go on for a while, but let's get into this final
book.
The twins have been separated and Hunter has been working to
get her missing half back home and out of Egyptian hell. Well, let's go
knock on the gate and ask for Mercy back. Sounds pretty easy and simple to do.
Ha, nope! The usual gate keeper isn't the one that answers but Hunter basically
got a big fat no and the gate closed. Well, so much for that.
I do love Hunter's strength and will to save Mercy. Hunter had to find her own way and she did. It was fantastic seeing Hunter believe in herself and take the strength she needed to not only cast away the sea Goddess but to take that power and be able to just pull her sister and the gate keeper back into their world.
Now that everyone is back together and taking a little bit of time to go over what happened. It's time to get ready to face what's next. After all Amphitrite will want her vengeance.
Love for this series took it's time to get there but gosh did this final book bring it. It's everything I've come to expect from these ladies. They deliver each time and if you haven't already done so, go get your hands on their House of Night series. You won't regret it.
