Interview with Brent and Bryan

We look forward to the interview and thanks for the opportunity to tell our story.

Bryan and I will try to answer as many questions that we can, but this is our first book publishing, The Reilly Thanksgiving Invitational Story, which makes our book unique – we wrote the book because we had a story to tell, not because we are writers.

1.   Can you tell us about your current projects?
Brent – two fictions; Jackpot – The Summer of 69’, based on a true story that is in the RTI Story; Knowing, Not Knowing, the story of a surgeon that finds he know the date and time someone will die. I hoping to complete by the end of 2010.
Bryan – First Chosen a sequel to the current release.  Berserk, a World War Two era book set in Africa.

2.   When can the readers expect your next book in print?
Brent – by the end of 2020
Bryan – both by the end of 2021

3.   Have you ever destroyed any of your drafts?
Brent – No, probably because of lack of experience in writing
Bryan – Many have been lost due to a flood.

4.   Have you ever written a story you wish you hadn’t?
Brent – No, but thought about not starting one or two
Bryan – No.  Perhaps some attitudes and actions, but not a written story.

5.   Did you ever change sentences more than five times just because it didn’t hit the right notes?
Brent – multiple times, and then my editor would do it some more
Bryan – Of course.  Part of it.

6.   Ever learned anything thing from a negative review and incorporated it in your writing?
Brent – Only if I determine that it’s fair criticism
Bryan – I love criticism!  Essential in guiding, correcting, and instructing.

7.   It is often said that in order to write something, you must believe in what you are writing. Do you agree with that?
Brent – The RTI Story never would have been published if we didn’t believe in our story.
Bryan – I can’t imagine any other way.

8.   Did you ever have a rough patch in writing, where nothing in the story seemed to fit or make sense?
Brent – yes, and I think that’s part of the process, and you must recognize rough patches and address
Bryan – Continuously.  But don’t discard it!
