On the night of Skye’s seventeenth birthday, she meets two enigmatic strangers. Complete opposites—like fire and ice—Asher is dark and wild, while Devin is fair and aloof. Their sudden appearance sends Skye’s life into a tailspin. She has no idea what they want, or why they seem to follow her every move—only that their presence coincides with a flurry of strange events. Soon she begins to doubt not just the identity of the two boys, but also the truth about her own past.

In the dead of a bitingly cold Colorado winter, Skye finds herself coming to terms with the impossible secret that threatens to shatter her world. Torn between Asher, who she can’t help falling for, and Devin, who she can’t stay away from, the consequences of Skye’s choice will reach further than the three of them could ever imagine.

A Beautiful Dark is the first book in a captivating trilogy by debut author Jocelyn Davies.

My Review: LOVED THIS!

So at first I wasn't too sure where this book was going and if I would end up finishing it. But after the first few chapters, it really picked up and was worth every page.

Sky is on her way to her not exactly a surprise birthday party. Her friends never listen and throw her a party every year. But this year is going to be different. Two random guys show up, her eyes change, and the coffee shop looks like its been to hell and back. People think it was just some freak earthquake, however, they have no idea how wrong they are.

As if things weren't weird enough, the two mysterious boys are now at her school, in every single class as Sky, and very chatty with her. At least they want to be...

After some odd things that Sky can't explain, the accident on the school trip, and her eyes somehow being silver. Sky needs answers, and only Asher and Devin can give them to her.

Asher and Devin finally reveal to Sky the reason they are there. What they are and what she is. At least what they think she is...Sky is different from everyone. Stronger, more powerful than those around her. Just...she doesn't know what powers she has and how to exactly control them. Currently...they are just a bit uncontrolled. But, after some time, Sky notices it can react to her emotions.

Her emotions cause a huge power surge through her in the ending. The order and rebellion have no idea what she is but now they want her dealt with or choose a side.

A huge amazing ending and I'm already diving into the next book!
