On the morning of her
sixteenth birthday, Renée Winters was still an ordinary girl. She spent her
summers at the beach, had the perfect best friend, and had just started dating
the cutest guy at school. No one she'd ever known had died. But all that
changes when she finds her parents dead in the Redwood Forest, in what appears
to be a strange double murder.
After the funeral Renée’s
wealthy grandfather sends her to Gottfried Academy, a remote and mysterious
boarding school in Maine, where she finds herself studying subjects like
Philosophy, Latin, and the “Crude Sciences.”
It’s there that she meets
Dante Berlin, a handsome and elusive boy to whom she feels inexplicably drawn.
As they grow closer, unexplainable things begin to happen, but Renée can’t stop
herself from falling in love. It’s only when she discovers a dark tragedy in
Gottfried’s past that she begins to wonder if the Academy is everything it
seems.
Little does she know, Dante
is the one hiding a dangerous secret, one that has him fearing for her life.
Dead Beautiful is both a compelling romance and
thought-provoking read, bringing shocking new meaning to life, death, love, and
the nature of the soul.
My Review: Loved this book!
Renee is just a typical teenager. Sneaking
off to the beach for her birthday, having a wonderful day with her best friend
Ann. They pack up to leave and head home to beat her parents. But something
tells her they should take a certain street. And that's when Renee's normal
life changed.
On her 16th birthday Renee found her parents
in the forest dead in an unusual way. Now she spends days just mourning their
loss, not sure whats to come next. Then her grampa comes to be her guardian.
It's been years since she has seen him. And sudden her life is changed again.
He makes her go to this school on the opposite coast. Its a school that her
parents went to and she should go.
Her grampa wouldn't really give into details
but once Renee arrived to her school. She will realize things aren't what they
seem. Soon she will learn there are undead around her and the one she loves is
one of them.
As the ending comes, the pace speeds up, the
details get even better, and you'll be hooked until the very last word.
I can't wait to read the next book!
