Jeremy, a lonely and obese teenager, shoots into the limelight when a headstrong public health nurse persuades him to sue the food industry. Tossed into a storm of media buzz and bullying, the teen draws the attention of a serial killer who's targeting the obese. Soon the boy, the nurse, and their loved ones take center stage in a delusional man's drama.
In this novel of suspense, Eating Bull explores the real-life issues of bullying, fat-shaming, and the food industry's role in obesity.
"A solid thriller that manages to infuse one boy's coming-of-age with a whole lot of murder."--Kirkus Reviews
**Content Advisory: This book contains some profanity and brief scenes of graphic violence.
My Review: Being obese and a teenager can really suck. Its hard to fit in, but its easy to be bullied. But Jeremy is about to set an example. When nurse gets him to sue the food industry, things are about to change. He's now in the spotlight. Everything is going to be different and hopefully it all turns out for the greater good.
This all attracts a crazy man. A man that wants to kill Jeremy and all those he loves and involved.
But the main message is there throughout the whole book. Being obese is a big deal. Its gotten worse, and with todays world, you just cant be fat. You have to be perfect, you have to look the part. Everything is on looks. And being obese is tough enough, but having it tossed in your face and being bullied can really suck.
The author got right into, gave you details and a lot of truth. This is a great book for anyone who wants to give it a shot. Its worth the read and you'll get something out of it too.
