Love is everything but expected.

Eden Munro came to California for a summer of sun, sand, and celebrities—what better way to forget about the drama back home? Until she meets her new family of strangers: a dad she hasn’t seen in three years, a stepmom, and three stepbrothers.

Eden gets her own room in her dad’s fancy house in Santa Monica. A room right next door to her oldest stepbrother, Tyler Bruce. Whom she cannot stand. He has angry green eyes and an ego bigger than a Beverly Hills mansion. She’s never felt such intense dislike for someone. But the two are constantly thrown together as his group of friends pulls her into their world of rule-breaking, partying, and pier-hanging.

And the more she tries to understand what makes Tyler burn hotter than the California sun, the more Eden finds herself falling for the one person she shouldn’t love…

My Review: I was looking to dive back into more NA books, and this one seemed to catch my eye. So I took a chance on this book. And lets just say, I've already ordered the next book!

Anywho... Eden is in Cali for the summer. The beautiful scenes, beaches, places to visit, the sign, the lovely heat. Its a perfect summer getaway. Though, the whole fun thing may not happen so much. Her dad asked to have her for the summer. After all this time, she wonders why and yet agrees to go. Maybe he really does want to try and have something with her. Maybe meeting his new family wont be so bad. Maybe, just maybe she can forgive him. Though when she uses him leaving against him, it kind of looks like there is still work to be done.

When she does arrive, she meets everyone and makes friends on the first day. And has already made plans. Within just the first few days, she has a lot of plans, has a girls day, goes to the beach, party, and is pretty much just being out. Which doesn't seem bad, having a good time tends to happen during the summer break. Yet, Eden takes some time to warm up to everything.

Then there is the new family. The stepmom is surprising to Eden. With the way she looks, you wouldn't expect her to be very smart and be a lawyer. And she does try hard to talk to Eden and connect. Which is good, but Eden took some time to warm up to her. Her stepbrothers are okay. The younger ones are good and pretty easy to get along with.

Then you have Tyler. Ugh how I wanted to smack him so many times. Hes the oldest, does what he wants and thats that. Its his way or nothing. Hes grounded, and what does her do? Go out to party, chill with friends and acts like its no big deal.

Tyler and Eden are thrown in the same group of friends, so they are kinda stuck spending a lot of time together. Eden just can't stand him though. So she tries to figure him out and that leads to way bigger things that weren't planned.

I'm so happy I took the chance on this book.
