The Iron Prince—my nephew—betrayed us all.
He killed me.
Then, I woke up.
Waking after a month on the brink of death, Ethan Chase is stunned to learn that the Veil that conceals the fey from human sight was temporarily torn away. Although humankind's glimpse of the world of Faery lasted just a brief moment, the human world has been cast into chaos, and the emotion and glamour produced by fear and wonder has renewed the tremendous power of the Forgotten Queen. Now, she is at the forefront of an uprising against the courts of Summer and Winter—a reckoning that will have cataclysmic effects on the Nevernever.
Leading the Lady's Forgotten Army is Keirran himself: Ethan's nephew, and the traitor son of the Iron Queen, Meghan Chase. To stop Keirran, Ethan must disobey his sister once again as he and his girlfriend, Kenzie, search for answers long forgotten. In the face of unprecedented evil and unfathomable power, Ethan's enemies must become his allies, and the world of the fey will be changed forevermore.
My Review: Eeeeep! I can’t believe this is the end of the Iron Fey books. I’ve loved every single book in this series, but this brought out all the heavy feels.
Ethan is awake and alive. He’s resting from being stabbed by his own nephew. His sister is by his side, explaining what happened since the incident. Somehow the medallion that his mentor gave him, had saved his life. It’s a great thing that Ethan is still alive, but right now there are bigger issues.
What happened to Ethan’s girl. Where is the prince right now? And just what the heck is he planning? Megan reveals that she knew of this prophecy, and she did all she could to prevent this from happening. However, the prophecy is still going to happen.
Maybe they can talk to Kierran and come to a decision that works for everyone. Or Megan will have to face going to war against her son. Things seem difficult for everyone involved. You can feel the sadness from Megan. Feel Ethan’s anger. And just notice all the tension. The details are so strong, and if you have been reading the whole series, then be ready. This book has it all and is maybe one of the best endings to a series. Though I do wish the series wouldn’t end.
If you loved this series, then make sure to check out Julie’s other series. Right now her current series has dragons! Check out Talon next!
