Playing center field for the New York Kings, Jake Woodbury has one of the most prestigious jobs in all of sports. To the world, he's the good-looking, soft-spoken minister's son who’s survived celebrity without a hint of scandal. But, inside, he's reeling from a secret that seems destined to haunt him forever.

Scarlett Moore is one of the biggest pop stars on the planet, famous for singing about her celebrity ex-boyfriends. The CEO of her record label has carefully honed her provocative image since she was fifteen. Sex sells, and Scarlett’s well aware that it takes more than talent to stay on top.

One thing is clear: She’s the last thing Jake needs. And he’s the do-gooder jock she should avoid at all costs. But when the game begins, all bets are off.

My Review: I'm back again with another Collette book! This time around, its all about Jake. A player for the NY Kings. Hes got it pretty good right now, he has a great job, got the looks and well just seems like an overall good guy. But, everyone has their secrets. Some haunt us and Jake has one that has been haunting him for a long time.

Then Scarlett was brought in. She is famous in her own way too. Shes a singer and always trying to stay on top. She is well known for songs about her ex's. (Remind you of any other singer?) Anyway, I was hoping this would be the girl for Jake. If you've read the other books, then you know the whole Carrie thing. It hurt to seem him not get the girl, but she was meant for another. Though Scarlett has her own secrets.

Then the magical moment happened. When Jake hears her sing, then their story really begins. They seem too different. Each has their own image, and you wouldn't think of them being a couple. But as they talk and get to know each other, you can see the spark. They are a perfect fit for each other. The spark between them is more than just romance, they have one of the deepest connections I've read so far. And that deep connection is so amazing, you have no choice but to be dragged in and follow their story.

Collette has done it again. I haven't read a book that I didn't love by her. She really knows how to hook you with the romance and make it come to life. I can't wait to see what she comes out with next!
