Disturbed by suspicious deaths in Shiver Cove, Val begins his own investigation. Five teenagers have been mauled to death and the police aren’t looking for a murderer. The fatalities have been deemed as ‘animal attacks’ and it seems only Val and his friends are searching for the actual killer. Certain the attacks have been committed by a supernatural being, Val hunts for a creature he calls ‘The Beast’.
After discovering a warning to stay away, Val knows he’s on the right trail.
Too bad supernatural crime solving isn’t the only issue to content with. A parental split and an unstable girlfriend further complicate his life.
With ominous threats, his best-buddy being kidnapped and bodies stacking up in the morgue, Val and his friends race to discover the identity of ‘The Beast’. Figuring out who or what ‘The Beast’ is could be the easy part of the equation. Keeping his friends safe and surviving could prove much, much tougher.
My Review: Back with book two! Val has decided to dig into these deaths that have been going on. People have been mauled to death and that usually should bring some alarm to a town. But the cops are just calling it an animal attack and leaving it at that. So it looks like Val and his friends are the only ones really investigating these cases.
They believe its more than just an animal attack. Something more supernatural is at play here. They believe its something called the beast and they are going to work on proving it. Val knows he is on the right track when things start to get tougher. More problems are entering the picture, and Val is just going to take it all and find a way to make things work without losing his trail of the beast.
Fast paced and full of detail. Part two is just amazing and I'm so loving this world. I read this pretty quickly and so many details will stick with you after finishing the book. Its worth the read and TJ has some great writing skills.
