Start your engines…

Eighteen-year-old Jesse Copeland learns of a local car race sponsored by his father's nemesis, Shep Bradley, and the prize money might be enough to keep his family from losing their home—if he can win.

Brooke, Shep’s daughter, is also aiming to compete, with or without her father’s approval. She’ll do whatever it takes to persuade Jesse to make her car race ready. Both are driven, both are risk-takers, and soon it’s more than engines getting fired up. Jesse tells himself their relationship is strictly business, until it isn’t.

Can two star-crossed lovers overcome a family feud as old as Ford vs. Chevy, or will the competition become too explosive for these racing hearts?

Can these two competitors overcome the sins of their fathers or will a shadowed history destroy their dreams forever?

My Review: I loved these books! I tore through the first one, and it was a good thing I had the second book already. So I tore through that one too.

Jesse is a great character. Easily likeable, and you'll root for him all the way. He'll enter himself into the race and hope to win. If he does, he can save his home. He's ready to win.

Then Brooke notices the race and plans to enter it, no matter what. She's also ready to win.

So she gets Jesse to help out with her car. Together they connect and work together. But none of this is going to work out smoothly. Brooke's dad doesn't want  her racing.  Plus their familes are rivals. None of this really matters to them after Jesse realizes this is more than strickly business.

From then these risk takers are perfct together. Nothing seems to be wrong for once. Jesse is about ready for the race and has this lovely. Everything is going well, and then Brooke reveals the one thing that can destroy the happiness Jesse has. He'll rethink things and his family could really take a hit.

So thats what he plans to do. Get himself together. Prepare for t he race. Win. Save his home. And end it all with the girl he  loves by his side. That's it. Everything will be perfect. Only thing is, it won't be that easy. But as you read these books and get to know these characters and how well they are together. You will root for them all the way. You'll have feels throughout. It's just two of the best books I've read this year.
