Sometimes the ghosts from your past…are real.
Moira Flynn is arrested for attacking a door-to-door solicitor with a knife. She claims a voice told her the man was intent on assaulting her. The trouble is, she was the only one that heard that voice. Moira strikes a plea bargain and is sent to a psychiatric hospital for voluntary treatment. Dr. Richard Cassano is hesitant to treat her as schizophrenic, as she does not show the standard symptoms. As their sessions progress, Moira confesses there are two voices—and they aren’t voices in her head, but the voices of ghosts. Are they imaginary? Or are they actual spirits, attached to her for reasons of their own? As Moira’s doctor uncovers more of her past, he begins to realize that her ghosts are real. And one of them is determined to drag Moira into the afterlife with him.
My Review: So glad to be reading another book by Clarissa! She is very talented.
So I started the book. At the start, I got hooked, and next thing I knew it was a page turner for me! Don't you love it when a book can steal you right at the start?
So Moira has ghosts, well in her head at least. And one told her that the guy was going to her her, and so she attacked him. She doesn't normally do this, voices in her head weren't happening, and well none of this should have happened. But it did, and now she is in the crazy house.
Lucy for Moira, she has a really great doctor. Dr. Richard doesn't want to treat her as some mentaly sick person. So instead he helps her. Listens to what she has to say during the sessions and takes in what she says about the voices. Well as it turns out he believes the voices do belong to some very real ghosts. Once he learns about this after knowing more about Moira, he is worried for her. The ghosts are there and aren't in a hurry to leave. At least one won't go until Moira goes with it.
So yeah, Moira isn't crazy, but she is in danger. She needs this to be solved, the ghosts to be gone and for everything to go back to normal. It will take some help and she will need to put up a good fight, but Moira is tough and I so loved how it went down and finally ended.
Such a great read, and I can't wait to see what Clarissa can write up next!
