A thrilling, seductive new series from New York Timesbestselling author Sarah J. Maas, blending Beauty and the Beast with faerie lore.
When nineteen-year-old huntress Feyre kills a wolf in the woods, a beast-like creature arrives to demand retribution for it. Dragged to a treacherous magical land she only knows about from legends, Feyre discovers that her captor is not an animal, but Tamlin—one of the lethal, immortal faeries who once ruled their world.
As she dwells on his estate, her feelings for Tamlin transform from icy hostility into a fiery passion that burns through every lie and warning she's been told about the beautiful, dangerous world of the Fae. But an ancient, wicked shadow grows over the faerie lands, and Feyre must find a way to stop it . . . or doom Tamlin—and his world—forever.
Perfect for fans of Kristin Cashore and George R. R. Martin, this first book in a sexy and action-packed new series is impossible to put down!
My Review: I was so happy when I got this ARC, then realized I can't get the next book for another year.....Yep. Sarah did an amazing job with this book and I love love love the way she took tales and lore and mixed it into her book. So freaking awesome!
When I started out with the book, I was ready to call it quits thought......Only because I really love animals and dont appreciate seeing them slaughtered. Other than that, I didn't want to call it quits anymore.
Anywho....Feyre has it pretty tough and I want to smack her family. She is taking care of everyone and they don't even treat her with enough respect! I really hated that, not to mention that she doesn't even have to do the things she does. Her dad made business mistake and hasn't left the house to look for work since. Her mother died. Her sister thinks shes too good to go chop wood for the house. Then you got one sayig how shes going to get married off and not live like the way she is now. But the way she said it, it seemed like she was already rich and looking down on her family. I can see why Feyre does what she does, and I wish she would just take care of herself instead. Gosh I really hated the family. And this is all in the beginning of the book, so be prepared to be annoyed and angry.
Then Tamlin enters.....and things turn. Tamlin is a Fae. There are a million things about fae and their world. What Feyre knows about them is mainly the bad stuff. So naturally she won't like him. But as she got to know him, her feeling changed. Then it came down to her helping him out. Otherwise his world may sorta be in a little trouble.....Feyre never ever expected any of this to happen. But you can tell she is happy that it did. Tamlin is actually a good person and so good for Feyre.
I so so so so loved this book! I had trouble putting it down once it started rolling and finished it right up. I really need the next book in my hands....I have to know what happens next!
