Fifteen year-old Miri lives in a desert village called Boreala, which competes with the city of Stratos for Rain – the equivalent of Holy Water. During a confrontation while gathering Rain, Miri accidentally kills a citizen of Stratos, and unintentionally starts a heinous war. Now it is up to her to find the God of Rain, Kalono, and ask Him for an invention that can bring both peace and war before Boreala is destroyed.
My Review: Yup, another one of from Vivian. I am still enjoying her works. And this time I'm taken to a desert that competes with another for rain. Okay maybe not me, but Miri is sure dealing with all that.
So Miri goes to collect rain, everything is going well until she gets into a spat with a citizen from Stratos. Tthehat person is accidently killed. Now Miri is upset about that and about it starting up a war. None of this was intentional and well now its up to her to fix all this. Hopefully she can get to Kalono in time to bring peace before things get too bad.
Ups and Downs happen along the way, but lucky for Mirir the world doesn't go to complete pieces. She learns things along the way, which is always a plus for me. Always an amazing thing to keep learning along the way. It was nice to read on how she dealt with the desert. Its a tough environment, and she didn't give up. She had such a strong will to bring peace and get back to life.
I loved the detail brought in. Then the overall story is unique and enjoyable. Its a fun and light read. Once you open the book, you will finish it in one sitting and probably not get anything done until you actually finish the book. But isn't that the sign of a super cool book? What reader wouldn't want a book like this?
