Delfia thought she was a normal girl about to turn sixteen until her adoptive parents are murdered by creatures from the underworld. Her life gets thrown into chaos as she teams up with her best friend, a strange guy, and a prophetess. She soon discovers her biological father, Hades, ordered the attack on her and her family because a prophecy names her as the one to take him down. She must first complete a set of tasks to free Persephone, her mother, from the underworld and defeat Hades. Will she be reunited with her mother or will she get sucked into the underworld?
My Review: I love Greek stories. The underworld is one of my favorites, since it can be told in many ways.
So Delfia is a typical girl. Goes to school, has friends and a good home. Then suddenly her parents are killed. So now she will be going on sixteen alone and heading into the underworld. So yeah, typical teenage stuff. A lot will happen and Delfia takes it all in and is able to handle these situations so much better than I thought. She seemed so grown up with the way she handled things.
So this is where she finds out the truth. About who she is, who her real parents are and if she will make it out of the underworld. So Hades reveals that he and Persephone are her real parents. Then explains a prophecy and how she was meant to take him down. And well he won't have that and planned all this to go down.
So either Delfia can figure things out fast or she will be stuck. The story line is great. The pace is perfect and the details are done just right. Its another awesome retelling. I loved this story and would read more from the author.
