Planet Novo, nestled in space twelve hundred miles above the surface of the Earth, is the new home of 17 year old Cadet Ariana Skyee. Confused by the government-sanctioned memory erase and distressed at her impending forced marriage and motherhood, Ariana’s plans for the future are thrown into complete disarray.
As the traumatic events within her family life enfold, Ariana grows increasingly alarmed at the authorities apparent pre-occupation with her and feels progressively more isolated and alone.
Her growing feelings for fellow Cadet Cal Remus intensify as the recently announced pageant, ‘The Calling’, gets underway. Struggling to comprehend the continuous, inexplicable dreams of the mysterious Zane, discovering the past helps shape her future, with devastating personal consequences
My Review: Okay so Earth is pretty much non-existent. With only certain people being moved to the planet next door and hopefully come up with a perfect plan to make things work.
So a pageant is coming. Its made to give a person their perfect match. Though its really just so they have a way to get things going and populating. Really didn't think a pageant was the way to go... Though its going to be not so fun for Ariana. She pretty much set up and then has dreams of another guy. As if she didn't already have to worry about marriage and kids, now she has to figure out who this guy is and why she has been dreaming of him.
Ariana is already dealing with a lot. Then tragedy strikes and her stress level skyrockets. Nothing is going as planned. She has to deal with Zane, Cal, the tragedy and more. Not only is it a bit too much for someone of her age, but she is so strong and is able to get through things.
I love the pace of the book. I love the world on Nova, the characters and the overall ideas going on in this book. I think Siobhan will end up being an author to follow for all fans of sci-fi.
