Set against the backdrop of a dystopian London where thugs and criminals run rife, Skye Archer possesses a rare gift, the ability to transform into her spirit animal at will. Widely regarding her morphing ability as a curse, Skye's aim is to keep it a secret at all costs. But one day she meets the intriguing and affluent, Raphael Renzo, who soon proves to have a secret of his own, one that could heal the downtrodden city and affect Skye in ways she never thought possible...
This debut novel from author, Sarah Brownlee, is a compelling and gripping read, taking the reader into a world where both the heart of a city and the heart of a girl are simultaneously pierced by one man.
My Review: You really get a feel for this world. The word building was done so well, you can picture everything perfectly. I like the overall story and how you become a wolf is different than in most stories. I wish there was more about the ancestry, but we get enough that it still grabs you.
Then there is Skye, a strong and independent person. She can also change into an animal. Though unlike some other morphers, she hides the fact. Things have happened and well there are some negative reactions. But no matter she is easily love able. She is just a typical person trying to be sure of herself. Has a temper and some self esteem issues. But pretty much every girl goes through this at her age.
Then comes in Raphael. Another person who can morph into an animal. But he wears this with such pride, you can easily tell. He knows hes strong and has the power to become even stronger/something more. He is just what Skye needs, and they are perfect together.
I have lots of details I want to share, but its never easy to write these things without giving spoilers or just writing out the whole book. But Sarah just wrote this book so well, that I want t share every single detail.
