For every wish there is a sorrow...
Wishes are born from sorrows, blessings are sometimes curses, and even fairy godmothers cannot always get what they want. In this original collection, Cindy Lynn Speer, the author of the Chocolatier’s Wife, brings to life creatures of myths and tales, mixing them into a vibrant tapestry of stories, happy and sad, magical and real, each lovingly crafted and sure to touch the reader’s soul. Step into the world where magic is real, and every mundane bit of reality is as magical as a true fairy tale.
My Review: A retelling of the fairy tales we know, plus some new ones and a few myths thrown in as well.
You get the story of Cinderella, told in a new way. A story of a woman who is afraid of going crazy. Even a story that didn't get a happy ending. A perfect mix of happy endings and dark endings. Even though the stories aren't very long, you get enough details to feel the magic, the emotion, and get to know the character enough. And that is not easy to do, but Cindy did it well and I enjoyed it.
Every Word I speak, Remember, The Train, are three of my favorite, but remember you have a huge number of stories to choose from. So who knows you may like these three or all of them!
This book was fun and creative. I enjoyed these stories...but, I did have some issues with the book. Typos, there were a few and because of that, it did ruin some of the stories for me. I couldn't get past it, and if this book got re edited, I think it would be super perfect.
