On a planet very much like Earth, Jibade, the royal family’s shape-shifting embalmer, is intent on finding those behind the assassination attempts of the family. To further complicate things, he is kidnapped by bounty hunters, escapes, but finds himself hunted by the king’s own men. Can he find the source behind the deaths before the heirs of the family are extinguished?

My Review: Jibade has a decent job. He's an embalmer for the royal family and I guess you can add detective to his lists of jobs. He decides to find those who are trying to kill the royal family. And lets just say, he should stick to embalming, at least with that he doesn't have to worry about being hunted down.

You see, Jibade is full of gifts, like seeing auras and knowing when someone will die. Plus he can shape-shift, along with a few other things. So he finds out about this plan to kill the royals and he tries to stop it, but instead he gets kidnapped. He does manage to escape, only to find that he is being hunted. So now he needs to avoid those men and figure out what is going on before they are all killed.

This was a cool new read for me. Loved the idea and the way everything was built up. The plot was good and flowed nicely. There were a few twists that I didn't expect, but only made me like the book more. Oh, and this is modern times, so it's not ancient Egypt. But then you had the cliffhanger...and here I was sitting around without another book in my hands. I hope there is more, but I enjoyed it and would read more by the author!
