My Review: When the book was coming out, I saw a lot of hype for it and found that many reviewers liked it. Even the blurb was interesting, so I gave it a shot. Sadly it wasn't what I expected.
It ended up being one of those books that you just don't know what to say about it. I didn't hate the book, but I didn't love it either.
So maybe I should just say what I did like about the book first. I liked the overall idea and that we had jinni's in it. I did like Nalia. She is the last Jinni of her kind and is technically the rightful heir to the Amethyst crown. She doesn't really want it. What she wants is to be free and save her brother. Nalia was bought and sold as a slave. She now lives with Malek and he has already made two wishes, just one more and she will be free. He hasn't use hid third wish yet, and he has her going off to these places and gives wishes to these men who will pay for it. Though she is tricky and isn't afraid to have a little fun if the client gets out of control. Like lets say making someone invisible and keeping them that way.....be careful for what you wish for moment. When she does return to her home, there is another jinni there and attacks her. Later she finds this jinni and things start to change. This jinni explains everything and could even help her escape. But everything comes with a price.
After that I was able to make I through a few more chapters before I really started to have a hard time with the book, it just lost my interest a few times, but I was able to finish the book.
Now I wasn't happy with the pace of this book, it starts off somewhat slow for me and sticks that way for a little, then it picks up to a better pace and then the pace would slow down again. There were some parts of the book that I think could have been written better and my interest wouldn't have been lost as much. I also would have like more detail on the jinni's world, that would have helped know when it came to parts of the book.
I hope she is able to make the next book better. I will give the next book a shot, but if I'm still not happy, I won't be finishing this series.
