Most people dream about getting out of Sharon, Nebraska, but after three years away, Lauren Barrett is coming home. There are the justifications she gives to everyone else—missing her family, losing her college scholarship. And then there’s the reason Lauren can’t admit to anyone: Rob Conrad, her best friend’s older brother.
Football prowess and jaw-dropping good looks made Rob a star in high school. Out in the real world, his job and his relationships are going nowhere. He can’t pinpoint exactly what’s missing until Lauren comes back to town, bringing old feelings and new dreams with her. But he’s the guy that women love and leave—not the one who makes them think of forever.
Though she’s terrified of opening up, Lauren’s ready to take that chance. Because the only thing more important than figuring out where you truly belong is finding the person you were meant to be with
My Review: I'm just loving Lauren. She is so real and you can even relate to things she goes through. So right now she is going back home after losing a scholarship and doing not so well in school. Yeah, the town may be talking and you know what, she doesn't care. Yeah, let them talk all they want. I loved that attitude about her. She is so strong and comfortable, a real amazing woman who is going to be in control of her life.
Then you have Rob. He acted like this bad boy, but he really is just a nice guy. Hes the guy where women love him and then dump him. He cares about others and about their feelings, uh how many men generally care abut a woman's feelings without any hidden intentions. He really is a nice guy. So he really doesn't deserve the way he got treated and now its all about to change. Seeing Lauren brought back those feelings he had for and now she is the only person on his mind.
Together they are am amazing couple. Both have their own issues and they help bring the good out of each other and see goals being reached. There isn't a lot of super hot action. There was just enough for you to enjoy. It's all good and you are able to know the couple more and grow with them. The build was done perfectly and they are just like us.
A lovely and relate-able story to love. Ann has got me hooked on her books and I can't wait to read the next one!
