“Love is a fire. But whether it is going to warm your heart or burn your house down, you can never tell.” -Joan Crawford
Dr. Katy Malone has sworn off love after losing those she loves most in her life including her father, a member of the FDNY. She has decided to spend her time focusing on her medical research. Her ex-fiancée, and fellow doctor, isn't ready to give up on loving her though.
Firefighter Nick Garrity is on a search for the future Mrs. Garrity. As he pushes thirty, with no prospects in sight, he's afraid he'll never find her. A devoted member of FDNY, he loves the thrill of his job and the satisfaction it brings him. He strives to teach the proby firefighter, Patrick Doyle, the ropes and pass on his passion to him.
When Doyle tries to impress the guys on the crew, he ends up in the care of Dr. Katy Malone. One look at Dr. Malone and Nick knows he's found his future wife but can he convince her to love again?
My Review: Love! Love is all kinds of things and can be easy or difficult. Right now love does not exist for Katy. She pretty much lost everything, until one firefighter tried to change all that for her. Like hot fireman wants Katy and I loved reading and seeing a love grow so lovely.
Just the emotion you get from that moment of Nick seeing Katy and just knowing she is the one. Right from there you become so involved into this book that the world is gone and you just live Nick and Katy until the very last word.
It doesn't even matter that Katy says she doesn't date firefighters, but that wont stop him. Nick will soon get her to fall for him and they become something amazing and things move pretty faster over the course of just a few months. No matter what the pace, this would still turn out amazing and the details and overall story line was executed just right.
My favorite was all the emotion that was thrown in all how you can just feel it and give you that extra reason to just stay curled up with this book and really get to know these characters. Through the book thee are the hard roads and slip ups but it doesn't just stop them, but make them stronger. These characters also have some good friends by them to help out and I love it when there is a good friend to be there for a person.
Overall I really loved this book and couldn't put it down until the very last page and can't read to more by the author!
