‘The world is never-ending.
I never realized just how much space there is – how far and wide the water around our island stretches out. Somewhere in the back of my mind, I may have believed that a second Wall ran around Tresco, containing the infinite waters so we wouldn’t all wash over the edge and plummet down into the depths.’
Leia and Walt are on their way to the Other Side, where the legendary land of Cornwall awaits them. Tony, their new friend, has told them that all wars of the past have been forgotten and the citizens of Bodmin and Dartmoor live in peace. People adhere to the tenets of an old religion that preaches forgiveness and non-violence.
However, Walt and Leia soon discover that even a peace-loving, ideal society like this one may have its flaws. While on a forbidden trip to Exeter, the old city of their ancestors, the two Islanders discover more about the new world than they ever bargained for.
Secrets run dark and passions run deep in this thrilling conclusion to the Island novella series.
My Review: I can't believe the series is already over! Ah I can't gen enough of Jen's books!
So here we go, Leia and Walt have been through a lot in the last two books and now they are finally heading to the Other Side. They do find their way to an island, and the people are friendly! I really like that I hope nothing goes wrong, but who knows.....the book is pretty smooth sailing at parts.
So now being in a new place Leia and Walt come to realize that no place is perfect. Each home has its own issues and this new place and this one has a whole new view on everything they tried to get away from.
Besides those two, Alisa has a big part in this book. She stayed back and is dealing with being on both sides of the Island. Which is much harder than she thought, but they fought for this and now this is her new path. Alisa has to be strong through this right now. Not only did she lose the man she loved, but one side is fighting to keep things to themselves and doesn't want anyone to think otherwise. Then a guy Saul from the other side comes to talk with her. She doesn't want anything to do with a guy right now. He has a past, but somehow he can see through that and actually thinks of this guy.
This book is on a different level and things get stronger through the book to make you even more addicted to the book, which is just wrong because there isn't another to follow! I would like at least a mini book to see how everyone is doing after sometime. Either way Jen has done it again with another book and I'll be looking forward to seeing what else she can write up!
